The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in a heated dispute with ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi following a recent ACC meeting. The Indian side has taken issue with Naqvi’s conduct after India’s Asia Cup victory over Pakistan. In the final match, India secured a 5-wicket win. After the match, the Indian team chose not to accept the trophy from Naqvi, who was present on the stage. Naqvi is accused of then taking the trophy. At the ACC meeting, BCCI officials, including vice-president Rajeev Shukla, confronted Naqvi, pointing out the trophy’s ownership. Naqvi reportedly avoided answering direct questions about the matter. The BCCI also highlighted Naqvi’s initial reluctance to congratulate India, which was later resolved. Despite the BCCI’s firm stance, the trophy has not been returned, resulting in the BCCI’s strong dissatisfaction. As a result, the BCCI will now escalate the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) with a formal complaint.
