Hundreds hit the roads in New Delhi for a fitness fiesta under the Fit India banner, with the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event stealing the spotlight. ESIC marked its platinum jubilee by participating enthusiastically, joined by celebrity athletes like Rupinder Pal Singh, the former hockey stalwart, cyclists Tanvi and Sweety Malik, choreographer Atul Jindal, and 65-year-old dynamo Sushil Antil.
Rupinder Pal Singh hailed the initiative passionately. ‘The PM’s Fit India Movement is brilliantly rallying Indians towards better health,’ he shared. He tied it to the excitement of hosting Commonwealth Games after 20 years: ‘Home advantage will elevate our athletes’ games. Expect stellar results.’ Advocating holistic activity, he said, ‘Cycle when you can, but move every day.’
The crowd’s zeal impressed Tanvi: ‘Incredible seeing everyone ready at dawn.’ Atul Jindal promoted green commuting: ‘Bikes benefit body and earth.’ Special invitee Sweety Malik felt uplifted by the scene, and Sushil Antil implored: ‘Youngsters, escape phone traps, dive into fitness.’
This pedal-powered gathering highlighted India’s wellness wave, especially timely with major games ahead. Featuring diverse ages and backgrounds, it reinforced that fitness is for all, fostering community spirit and long-term health habits nationwide.
