Chennai Test: India has won the Chennai Test played between India and Bangladesh by 280 runs. Bangladesh team, which came out to chase the target of 515 runs on the fourth day of the match, was reduced to 234 runs. With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. Now the second test of the series will start from 27 September in Kanpur. The biggest contribution for India in the Chennai Test was of R Ashwin, who scored a century and took 6 wickets and became a hero. Team India’s 4 hero of victory: R Ashwin- 113 runs and 6 wickets
Team India was the real hero. Both Bangladeshi bowlers and batsmen looked helpless in front of Ashwin. When India’s top order collapsed in the first innings, Ashwin took charge and scored 113 runs in 133 balls. On the basis of his innings, the Indian team reached a good condition. Ashwin did wonders with the ball in the second innings and broke the back of the opposition team by taking 6 wickets. On the basis of this performance, Ashwin played an important role in defeating the visiting team in a one-sided manner.
Ravindra Jadeja, 86 runs and 5 wickets
He did wonders with the bat in the first innings. He shared a 200-run partnership with Ashwin. Jadeja was dismissed after scoring 86 runs in 124 balls. He hit 10 fours and 2 sixes. He also took 2 wickets in the first innings. After this, he took 3 wickets in the second innings. Due to this excellent performance of Jadeja, Bangladesh team remained on the backfoot in the match.
Rishabh Pant, 109 runs
Rishabh Pant played a brilliant innings of 39 runs in the first innings and then 109 runs in the second innings for India and played an important role in giving the team a lead of 500 runs. He took good care of the bowlers of the opposing team and won everyone’s heart by batting fearlessly. Pant also looked good in wicketkeeping.
Shubman Gill, 119 not out
Even though Gill could not open his account in the first innings, he made up for it in the second innings. Gill went to open with Rohit Sharma and remained unbeaten till the end. He scored 119 runs in the second innings. Which included 10 fours and 4 stormy sixes. Gill’s batting took India to the target of 515 runs.
