The Indian cricket team secured the Asia Cup 2025 title on September 28, defeating Pakistan in the final. India’s victory, achieved by winning by five wickets, marked their ninth championship in the Asia Cup. Despite the win, the Indian team was denied the customary presentation of medals and the Asia Cup trophy. The trophy has reportedly been withheld by Mohsin Naqvi, who holds positions as the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). During the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), the board vehemently protested this situation. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla voiced his displeasure, stating that the Asia Cup trophy should be considered the property of the winning team and not kept by any individual, demanding its immediate handover to India.
