The cost of attending the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to rise. The GST on IPL tickets has been increased from 28% to 40%. This change means that fans wanting to watch their favorite cricket stars play will have to pay more for their seats. This new tax rate applies exclusively to IPL matches, differing from other domestic and international cricket games that continue to have an 18% GST. The price increase affects tickets across all categories, including general admission and hospitality. The cost for a ticket originally priced at INR 500 will now be INR 700, while tickets priced at INR 1000 and INR 2000 will cost INR 1400 and INR 2800, respectively. To ensure the best prices, fans are encouraged to book tickets early through the official channels to avoid potential inflated costs.
