Akash Deep, fresh from his performances in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, returned to India. On August 7th, he and Mukesh Kumar, another fast bowler for Team India, arrived in Gorakhpur and visited the Gorakhnath Temple. They explored the temple complex, and sought the blessings of Baba Gorakhnath. Following their temple visit, they went to the cowshed within the temple complex and fed the cows. The cricketers spent considerable time at the Gorakhnath Temple during their visit.
