Pakistan’s head coach, Mike Hesson, has emphasized the need for his team to stay focused and composed in the upcoming match against India, scheduled for September 14th. This match represents the first official face-off between the two teams since the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. During a press conference, Hesson underscored the significance of maintaining a level head despite the high tensions and emotional context surrounding the game. Pakistan’s preparation for the India match includes a game against Oman on Friday, September 12th. While the opening match holds importance, the focus is already shifting to the India game. The match is expected to attract a massive global audience and fill the Dubai International Stadium. “We know that India are obviously hugely confident and rightfully so in terms of how well they’ve played,” Hesson remarked. He added, “Look, I’ve certainly watched many games from afar, so certainly being on the other side of the fence, I guess, being right and amongst such a highly charged event is going to be exciting.” Hesson concluded by saying, “We’re very much focused on improving as a team, sort of day by day, and not getting too far ahead of ourselves.” The teams are divided into Group A (India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman) and Group B (Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong).
