Born March 8, 1955, in Peravoor, Kannur, to lawyer-athlete Joseph George and Mary, Jimmy inherited a passion for the net. Topping academics, he rejected medicine for the court, joining Kerala Police post-1976.
Teen sensation: Kerala state at 16, university captain leading four All India titles (1973-76). Asian Games 1974 introduced him nationally at 19.
Arjuna at 21. Pro pivot in 1979: Abu Dhabi trailblazer, Gulf best. 6’2″, aerial prowess, spike perfection – his signatures.
1982 Italy stint with Treviso launched superstardom. Seven seasons across clubs, dazzling elites. Captained India to 1986 Seoul bronze (beat Japan!), Hyderabad Gold Cup.
1987-88 with Eurostyle-Eurosiba was his peak. Then, November 30 crash in Italy. Gone at 32.
