IND-W Vs SA-W: The Indian women’s cricket team defeated South Africa in the third and final T20 match and leveled the series 1-1. The Indian women’s team performed brilliantly in the third match of the series played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and defeated South Africa by 10 wickets.

Due to the excellent performance of the bowlers, the Indian women’s cricket team defeated South Africa by 10 wickets with 55 balls to spare in the third and final T20 international cricket match. Fast bowler Vastrakar (four wickets for 13 runs) and spinner Radha (three wickets for six runs) took three wickets each, due to which the South African team collapsed for 84 runs in 17.1 overs.

India scored 88 runs without any loss in 10.5 overs and registered an easy win. Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten on 54 runs off 40 balls and Shefali Verma remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 25 balls. South Africa had won the first match by 12 runs while the second match could not be completed due to rain. India had earlier won the only Test match apart from winning the ODI series 3-0.

Mandhana started by hitting two fours on Ayobanga Khakha. After this, both the Indian batsmen scored runs easily. India scored 40 runs in the power play. After this Mandhana completely dominated the South African bowlers. Mandhana completed her half-century by hitting two fours and a winning six on Nadine de Klerk. She hit 8 fours and two sixes in her innings. Shefali hit three fours in her innings. She also got a lifeline when she was on 24 runs.

Earlier, apart from Vastrakar and Radha, Arundhati Reddy (one wicket for 14 runs), Shreyanka Patil (one wicket for 19 runs) and Deepti Sharma (one wicket for 20 runs) took one wicket each for India. For South Africa, only opener Tejmin Brits (20) could touch the 20-run mark.

Vastrakar was adjudged Player of the Match and Player of the Series for taking four wickets. India have levelled the series 1-1. They had lost the first T20 match by 12 runs while chasing 190 runs on the same ground in Chennai. The second match was washed out after the first innings when the visitors batted first and scored 177 runs.
