Gold medalist in the Western Regional Sports Competition, Mumbai and last year’s state champion table tennis player Samriddhi Kulkarni has expressed her intention to play in the 2028 Olympics. Samriddhi is representing SNDT Mumbai University in table tennis in the ‘Silver Year’ Maharashtra State Inter University Sports Meet 2024 organized at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
Table tennis player Samriddhi Kulkarni said that there has always been an atmosphere of sports in the family. My father has also been a player while my sister also plays. It was during my school days that I developed a passion for playing. After this, father supported me and encouraged me to play table tennis.
Samriddhi won bronze medal in the individual category and gold medal in the team category in the under-14 age group school competition held in Vadodara, Gujarat. Won silver in Machilipatnam in 2015, bronze in Delhi and gold medal in the team category in the School National Championship in 2019, 20 and 21. He said that girls should be self-reliant in their career choices. He appealed to the girls to stand on their own feet by making a career in sports and bring glory to their families.
Samridhi said that today girls are also coming forward in all sports and there is competition in their sports also like boys. Samriddhi, who considers Spanish badminton player Carolina Marin as her idol, has decided to schedule her college studies and practice along with her dream of playing in the Olympics. He said that medals can be won only through regular practice and hard work.
Samridhi said that Nagpur University has made excellent plans for the sports festival. She has also previously participated in the All India Inter University Sports Tournament including the Western Regional Inter University Sports Competition held in Mumbai. He won the gold medal in the West Regional Competition. He has participated in the Maharashtra State Inter-University Sports Festival for the first time. Samriddhi has expressed satisfaction with the arrangements of Nagpur University.
