IPL 2024: In the Indian Premier League-2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the first match of the season by defeating Mumbai Indians by 31 runs. In this match, Hyderabad also broke RCB’s record by scoring 277 runs, the highest score in IPL history. Bengaluru had scored 263 runs against Pune Warriors in the 2013 season.
On Wednesday, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Hyderabad scored 277 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians team could score only 246 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat took 2-2 wickets. Whereas for Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma scored 63 runs on 23 balls, Travid Head scored 62 runs on 24 balls and Heinrich Klaasen scored 80 runs on 34 balls. Aiden Markram contributed 42 runs on 28 balls. Hardik Pandya and Gerald Cooties got one wicket each.
SRH broke RCB’s 11 year old record
Let us tell you that today Sunrisers Hyderabad has made the highest total in the history of IPL. Hyderabad scored 277 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. Earlier this record was in the name of Royal Challengers Bangalore. 11 years ago, RCB had scored 263 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs against the Warriors. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Heinrich Klaasen scored the highest unbeaten 80 runs in 34 balls.
