Lucknow Super Giants has announced its player retention and release list for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The franchise has decided to retain 19 players but notably released big names like David Miller, Shardul Thakur, and Ravi Bishnoi. This strategic decision marks a significant shift in the team’s composition. Shardul Thakur has been traded to Mumbai Indians, while the departure of Ravi Bishnoi, a player LSG invested heavily in, necessitates finding a strong spin alternative. The Super Giants are also looking to bolster their pace attack, particularly addressing potential injury issues with Mayank Yadav and the overall lack of experience in their fast-bowling unit. Alongside these releases, LSG has made significant acquisitions by trading in Mohammed Shami from Sunrisers Hyderabad and Arjun Tendulkar from MI. The IPL mini-auction, set to be a crucial event for all franchises, will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16th, where LSG will aim to strategically fill the gaps in their squad.
