Rishabh Pant’s unfortunate injury, a fractured toe, has paved the way for Narayan Jagadeesan to join the Indian Test squad. Jagadeesan, a wicket-keeper from Tamil Nadu, will be traveling to England. Pant suffered the injury during the fourth Test. Jagadeesan’s impressive first-class record includes 52 matches with 3373 runs, averaging 47.50, and featuring 10 centuries. In the recent Ranji Trophy season, he showcased his batting prowess, scoring 674 runs in eight matches at an average of 56.16. His consistent performance has earned him a spot on the BCCI’s radar. With the fifth Test against England at The Oval, starting July 31, India aims to level the series. The series currently stands at 2-1 in favor of England. The addition of Jagadeesan offers India a significant boost in their quest to win the series.
