Cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has criticized Ravindra Jadeja for his tactical shortcomings during the 1st Test against England. Manjrekar, on the Match Centre Live, pointed out that Jadeja missed opportunities to utilize the rough patches on the pitch effectively, especially on the crucial fifth day. Despite being an experienced player, Jadeja only took one wicket and conceded 172 runs in 47 overs. Manjrekar noted Jadeja’s delayed use of the rough against Ben Duckett and indicated a lack of the tactical acumen expected from a player of Jadeja’s caliber. He contrasted this with Jadeja’s efforts against Ben Stokes and implied that Jadeja’s approach against Duckett was inadequate for much of the innings.
