Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is reportedly not signing his central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2025-26 cycle. Reports suggest Rizwan has presented specific demands to the PCB, which have not been met, leading him to withhold his signature. The PCB has apparently turned down his conditions, leaving the situation unresolved for now. This contract standoff occurs shortly before Pakistan’s One Day International series against South Africa, kicking off on November 3. Rizwan, however, remains an integral part of the ODI squad selected for this series. The PCB’s recent contract decisions saw a shift in player categories, with Rizwan and Babar Azam both being moved down from the top Category A to Category B. Notably, the board has decided against issuing any Category A contracts for the current season. This contract issue follows a period of change for Rizwan, who was recently relieved of his ODI captaincy. The ongoing discussions between the player and the board are being closely watched, given the busy international schedule ahead for Pakistan cricket.
