The Women’s ODI World Cup is set to commence on September 30th, with the opening ceremony taking place in Guwahati’s Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium. Preparations for the ceremony are in full swing. While all participating teams are expected to attend, the Pakistan team will not be present. Reports suggest that captain Fatima Sana and her teammates will not be participating in the ceremony. The reason for their absence is speculated to be linked to the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet released an official statement on the matter. Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka during this World Cup.
