PBKS vs MI IPL 2024: The 33rd match of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) was played today between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). This match between the two teams took place at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. In today’s match there was a close fight between Punjab and Mumbai. Chasing the target of 192 given by Mumbai, Punjab reached the last over but was not successful and after all out PBKS, Mumbai Indians won the match by 9 runs.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 192 runs losing 7 wickets in the stipulated overs. In which Rohit Sharma played a brilliant inning of 36 runs, Suryakumar Yadav played 78 runs and Tilak Verma played a brilliant inning of 34 runs. Among Punjab bowlers, Harshal Patel took 3 wickets, Sam Curran took 2 wickets and Kagiso Rabada took one wicket.
Punjab Kings, who set out to chase the target of 193, had a very bad start. The team had lost four wickets inside the powerplay itself. Batsmen Shashank and Ashutosh played a good partnership for the team, which was very important. Shashank scored 41 runs in 25 balls and Ashutosh scored 61 runs in 28 balls with the help of 7 sixes and two fours. Due to this explosive innings, Punjab had hopes of victory but they returned to Ashutosh Pavilion in the 18th over and the team needed 21 runs to win in the last two overs. After which one wicket also fell in the 19th over. In the last over, 12 runs were needed to win but Kagiso Rabada was run out in the last wicket left. For Mumbai, bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee took 3 wickets each. Whereas captain Pandya, Shreyas Gopal and Akash Madhwal took one wicket each.
