The previous record was held by Liam Livingstone, who scored a century in 42 balls against Pakistan in 2021. In this match, Salt scored an unbeaten 141 runs off 60 balls, including 15 fours and 8 sixes. Remarkably, he scored 108 runs solely from boundaries, surpassing his own previous achievements. Prior to this, Salt had scored 88 runs from boundaries against West Indies in 2023. In that match, Salt scored 119 runs from 57 balls with 7 fours and 10 sixes. By scoring 141 runs against South Africa, Salt also claimed the record for the highest individual score in a T20I for England, surpassing his own previous record of 119 runs against the West Indies. In this performance, he left Suryakumar Yadav’s records behind.
