Amsterdam: Speaking at a public event in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Indian community has played a crucial role in elevating cricket standards in the country. He described the diaspora’s involvement as a shining example of soft-power diplomacy.

Modi recalled that the Netherlands competed in the T20 World Cup 2026 alongside India and put up a strong fight. He also praised the team’s memorable performances at the 2023 ODI World Cup, where they defeated two full-member sides.

The Prime Minister singled out Aryan Dutt, the 23-year-old off-spinner of Indian origin who has already featured in over 80 international matches. He also mentioned Teja Nidamanuru and Vikramjit Singh as part of the growing list of talented players representing the Netherlands.

Modi ended by saying that these achievements not only boost cricket in the Netherlands but also deepen the friendship between the two nations.
