A sudden injury has forced Kagiso Rabada out of South Africa’s ODI series against Australia. The pace bowler suffered a right ankle injury, sidelining him from the three-match series. The South African cricket board confirmed the news via social media. Rabada underwent a scan on Monday, which revealed the injury’s severity. He will stay in Australia for treatment with the South African medical team. Kwena Maphaka, a 19-year-old fast bowler, has been called up to replace Rabada. Maphaka had a successful T20 series against Australia, taking nine wickets. The South African team for the first ODI includes Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, and captain Temba Bavuma. The playing eleven also features Breetzke, Stubbs, Brevis, Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen, Nandre Burger, and Lungi Ngidi.
