However, batsmen Sediqullah Atal and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai proved him wrong with their exceptional performance. Atal and Omarzai played magnificent innings, with Atal scoring an unbeaten 73 off 52 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Omarzai contributed a quickfire 53 off 21 balls, featuring 2 fours and 5 sixes. Afghanistan eventually posted a total of 188 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, while Hong Kong managed only 94 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
