Shreyas Iyer, the dynamic Indian middle-order batsman, has shared encouraging news regarding his health status. Expressing his gratitude for the outpouring of support during his recovery, Iyer stated, “Sun’s been a great therapy. Grateful to be back, Thanks for all the love and care.” This update comes as a welcome relief after he required hospitalization in Sydney due to an injury sustained in Australia. The incident, which happened on October 25 during the third One Day International against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, resulted in a spleen injury and internal bleeding. Iyer had to leave the field after making a diving catch. Investigations revealed the extent of the injury, leading to a surgical procedure. The BCCI had confirmed his release from a Sydney hospital, with medical experts monitoring his recovery closely. Iyer has remained in Sydney for further check-ups and is reportedly set to fly back to India in the near future. Upon his return, he will require a substantial period of rehabilitation, estimated to be several months, to achieve full fitness and be match-ready.
