He achieved a remarkable distance of 71.37 meters in the javelin throw competition. This victory marked India’s success, with the nation earning two gold and two silver medals. The event was further highlighted by the presence of Neeraj Chopra, who watched Sumit’s triumph. In his fifth attempt, 27-year-old Sumit threw his personal best, winning the men’s javelin throw F64 event.
