The SA20 auction in Johannesburg witnessed intense bidding for the upcoming season. Sunrisers Eastern Cape, owned by Kavya Maran, has finalized their squad with new additions. The team also declared their new captain for the next season. Tristan Stubbs, the star wicketkeeper-batsman, has been appointed as the captain of Sunrisers Eastern Cape for the SA20 2026 season. Stubbs has been a part of the team since the inaugural season. He will take over from Aiden Markram, who led Sunrisers to consecutive titles in 2023 and 2024. Markram was acquired by Durban Super Giants in the recent SA20 auction for a significant sum, prompting Sunrisers Eastern Cape to select a new captain.
