A public interest litigation was filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the India vs. Pakistan match scheduled for September 14, 2025, during the Asia Cup. The advocate representing the petitioner argued that as the match was to be held on Sunday, the petition would become irrelevant if not listed on Friday. The bench, comprising Justices JK Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi, questioned the urgency of the matter, asking, “What’s the hurry? The match is this Sunday? What can we do? Let it happen. The match should go on.” Despite the advocate’s plea to list the case, even if the case was weak, the bench declined the request. The news is being updated.
