ICC Player of the Month: The ICC has announced the Player of the Month Awards for June 2024. The ICC Player of the Month Award for June 2024 went to two shining stars of Indian cricket, who made the team proud with their performance and proved their worth. In the men’s category, this honor has been given to Indian team’s fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah, while in the women’s category, Indian batter Smriti Mandhana has won this award.
Let us tell you that Jasprit Bumrah performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2024. In this tournament which ran from 2 to 29 June, Bumrah took a total of 15 wickets at an average of 8.26 and his economy rate was just 4.17. He was also named Player of the Series for this brilliant performance. Bumrah was nominated for this award along with Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz. On winning the award, Bumrah dedicated it to his family and thanked the fellow players and coaches.
Smriti Mandhana won the award in the women’s category
In the women’s category, Smriti Mandhana was given this award for her excellent performance. In June, Mandhana played innings of 113, 136 and 90 runs in the three-match ODI series against South Africa and also scored a century in the only Test match. Mandhana expressed happiness on winning the award and expressed hope that she will continue to contribute in this way for the team in future as well.
