The final day of the India-England Test at Headingley saw players wearing black armbands and observing a minute’s silence. The tribute was to Dilip Doshi, a former Indian left-arm spinner, who passed away in London on June 23, 2025, at the age of 77. The BCCI also expressed their condolences on June 24. Doshi’s career spanned from 1979 to 1983, during which he played 33 Tests and 15 ODIs, taking 114 and 22 wickets respectively. His contributions to domestic cricket were also noteworthy, with 898 wickets in 238 matches. This Test match saw the players wear black armbands on three separate occasions. On Day 1, the teams mourned the victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash. On Day 3, they paid respects to David ‘Syd’ Lawrence. The Indian women’s team, also in England, also honored Dilip Doshi with a minute’s silence and black armbands during their warm-up match.
