Old Delhi 6 experienced a setback in the second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), losing their first match to Outer Delhi Warriors by a significant margin of 82 runs. Despite the team’s defeat, a young cricketer demonstrated exceptional skill. All-rounder Uddhav Mohan had a remarkable debut, securing 5 wickets and becoming an immediate sensation in the DPL.
Uddhav Mohan’s Outstanding Performance
In the match held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Uddhav Mohan’s bowling performance was the highlight. He bowled 4 overs, conceding just 26 runs while taking 5 important wickets. His pace and precision created problems for the Outer Delhi Warriors’ batsmen. Though the rest of the team couldn’t support him, Old Delhi 6 lost the match. Due to Uddhav’s bowling, Old Delhi 6 managed to restrict Outer Delhi Warriors to 148 runs, but their batting struggled, scoring only 66 runs.
Special Connection with Virat Kohli
Uddhav Mohan’s rising fame is partly attributed to his link with Virat Kohli. Uddhav is associated with the West Delhi Cricket Academy (WDCA), where Virat Kohli, a prominent figure in Indian cricket, received his early training. Kohli’s career began at this academy, and now, Uddhav has emerged from the same training ground. Uddhav, trained under the guidance of Kohli’s coach Rajkumar Sharma, inspires many aspiring cricketers.
Selection for the Australian Tour with the Indian Team
Uddhav Mohan has recently been selected for the India Under-19 team, where he is set to display his abilities during their upcoming tour of Australia next month. Uddhav was also a highly sought-after player during the Delhi Premier League auction, where Old Delhi 6 acquired him for Rs 6.60 lakh.
