Old Delhi 6 experienced a setback in the second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), losing their first match to Outer Delhi Warriors by 82 runs. However, a promising young player stood out. Young all-rounder Uddhav Mohan delivered an outstanding performance on his debut, taking 5 wickets. His performance was the highlight of the match.
Uddhav Mohan’s Remarkable Performance
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Uddhav Mohan’s bowling was the talk of the match. In his 4 overs, he conceded just 26 runs while securing 5 important wickets. His quick and precise bowling caused significant problems for Outer Delhi Warriors’ batsmen. While Uddhav performed exceptionally well, Old Delhi 6 struggled due to lack of contributions from other players, ultimately leading to the loss. Uddhav’s bowling restricted Outer Delhi Warriors to 148 runs before they were all out. In response, Old Delhi 6 could only manage to score 66 runs.
Uddhav Mohan is a product of the West Delhi Cricket Academy (WDCA), the same academy where Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket icon, received his initial training. Kohli began his cricketing journey at this academy, and now, Uddhav is making a name for himself, trained under Kohli’s coach, Rajkumar Sharma. This debut is a source of inspiration for many.
Uddhav Mohan has earned a place in the India Under-19 team and will be displaying his talent on the upcoming Australia tour. Uddhav also received considerable attention during the Delhi Premier League auction, where he was purchased by Old Delhi 6 for 6.60 lakh rupees.
