Wrestling Federation of India Elections: Sanjay Singh, close to BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, has been elected the new president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). According to the information, elections were held today on a total of 15 posts of the Indian Wrestling Association. Apart from the post of President, elections were held for Senior Vice President, 4 posts of Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, 2 posts of Joint Secretary and 5 executive members. In the election for the post of President, Sanjay Singh was contesting against Anita Sheoran, who had won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games and had agitated against Brij Bhushan. The new president of WFI, Sanjay is also known as ‘Bablu’. He has been an office bearer in both the Wrestling Association of Uttar Pradesh and the National Wrestling Association. In the year 2019, he was elected Joint Secretary in the Executive Committee of the Indian Wrestling Association. He is originally from Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. Sanjay became the District President of Varanasi Wrestling Association in 2008. He is also considered a close associate of Brij Bhushan Singh.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was the President of WFI for 12 years.
