  • Delhi CM Atishi’s Residence Vacated, Belongings Removed; AAP Slams BJP |

The PWD has sealed the Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s residence located at 6 Flagstaff Road. The department has put a double lock on its gate. This government residence was vacated after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that despite protocol, the bungalow has not been allocated to the current Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi.

The party claimed that undue pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was causing the delay in handing over the property, despite Kejriwal having vacated the premises. Atishi, who assumed the role of Chief Minister after Kejriwal’s resignation, moved her belongings into a Civil Lines bungalow in North Delhi earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, accused Chief Minister Atishi of occupying the Sheeshmahal. He said, “When Chief Minister Atishi has already been allotted a government residence AB-17 Mathura Road, she is still illegally occupying the Sheeshmahal. Why did Arvind Kejriwal give the keys of Sheeshmahal to Atishi instead of handing them over to Delhi PWD officials?”

“The officials of Kejriwal’s government are deliberately protecting this illegal occupation. I demand from the PWD department that Sheeshmahal should be sealed immediately and legal action should be taken,” he added.

On Wednesday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh held a press conference where he accused the BJP of obstructing the bungalow’s allocation to Atishi. Singh claimed that the Chief Minister’s camp office on the premises had already been vacated and provided documents to support the claim that Kejriwal had vacated the house in accordance with proper procedures.

He further alleged that the BJP had ulterior motives to “usurp” the bungalow, preventing its allocation to the current Delhi Chief Minister.

  • AAP To Launch Delhi Poll Campaign With Manish Sisodia’s Foot March On August 14 |

New Delhi: The AAP will kick-start its campaign for the Delhi Assembly polls with senior leader Manish Sisodia undertaking a foot march to reach out to voters in all 70 constituencies, senior party leader Sandeep Pathak said on Monday.

The Delhi Assembly elections are likely to be held early next year.

Former Delhi deputy chief minister Sisodia, who was released from Tihar jail on Friday, held a meeting with AAP MLAs on Monday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita also participated in the meeting.

Sisodia held a meeting with senior party leaders on Sunday. He will meet AAP councillors on Tuesday.

Sisodia said preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections were discussed in the meeting on Monday.

“In the history of independent India, the AAP is the first party which is being attacked repeatedly. They have even put the top leader of the party in jail. The BJP people must also be thinking that for the first time after freedom fighters such people have come who are neither breaking nor bowing down,” he said.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Pathak, the AAP organisation general secretary, said Sisodia will also campaign for the party in Haryana, where assembly elections are due later this year.

Pathak said Sisodia’s foot march will start on August 14 and it will tell people about the BJP’s “tendency” to obstruct work and cause them distress.

“It was resolved in the meeting that the assembly polls will be fought to defeat the conspiracies of the BJP to break the Aam Aadmi Party. It is impossible to break the party,” he asserted.

He said the AAP is ready and the people of Delhi are also prepared to teach a lesson to the BJP so that it does not dare to employ “dirty politics” to win the elections and break parties elsewhere in the country.

Pathak said the AAP has already held 45 public meetings in Haryana and now bigger ones will be held in every Lok Sabha constituency.

The party has also held a round of small meetings in villages. Another round of meetings will begin soon, he added.

The AAP swept the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, winning 62 of the 70 assembly seats. The party won a whopping 67 assembly seats in the 2015 elections.

This time, the AAP is gearing up to take on the BJP. The morale of the party leaders and volunteers, dented by the arrest of Kejriwal, was boosted after Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court last week.

Dear children, your Manish Uncle is coming back.”

  • ‘Kejriwal Living In Sheesh Mahal…’: Congress Slams AAP Over Delhi Asha Kiran Deaths And ‘Overcrowding’ |

New Delhi: Following the tragic deaths of at least 12 inmates at Asha Kiran Shelter within just 20 days, the Aam Aadmi Party is facing scathing attacks from opposition parties. On Friday, Congress leader Abhishek Dutt condemned the Delhi government for overcrowding the facility, which was housing double its intended capacity. Dutt further slammed Arvind Kejriwal’s Health Model and said, “The government hospitals here are only for publicity.”

The Congress leader said, “This is a very sad incident. It is sad to see that on one side in a shelter home, double the capacity people are kept there and on the other side Arvind Kejriwal is living in his 170 cr ‘sheesh mahal’,” reported ANI.

Dutta further added that the Delhi CM used to talk about the health model, However, no action has been taken against the corrupt ministers. “He should be immediately removed from his post. The government hospitals here are only for publicity. People remember Delhi built by Sheila Dikshit,” Dutt asserted.

According to sources at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office, the local shelter home, which has a capacity of approximately 500 individuals, is currently accommodating about 950 people, nearly double its intended capacity. This overcrowding has raised significant concerns about the well-being and safety of the residents.

Expressing worry about the deaths of inmates at Asha Kiran shelter, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for plunging Delhi into a dire state. “It is difficult to breathe in Delhi. It is difficult to read the news.”

“Such news comes every day… Where does Aam Aadmi Party do what it says? The Aam Aadmi Party government has brought Delhi to a very sad situation. To save Delhi, it is very important to remove such people from the post,” Tiwari said, reported ANI.

According to an official report, the highest number of deaths (14) at Asha Kiran Shelter Home in Delhi’s Rohini area occurred in July. The report indicated that out of a total of 25 deaths recorded since February 2024, 14 happened in July alone (6 males and 8 females).

The report, sent from Asha Kiran Shelter Home to the Delhi Government, cited loose motion and unconsciousness as the primary causes of death, with other contributing factors including mild fever, loose stools, and vomiting.

In response to the incident, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi stated, “The preliminary report will be submitted within 24 hours. If the report reveals any negligence by officials, strict action will be taken against them.”

  • AAP’s Five Promises For Haryana Mirror Congress’ ‘Guarantees’, Vows Free Power, Healthcare, Women’s Stipend |

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Saturday unveiled five key promises for the upcoming Haryana elections, including free electricity, medical treatment, education, a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 for women, and job opportunities for the youth. The announcement was made in the run-up to the Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for later this year. The event in Panchkula was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and prominent AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak.

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal is currently in judicial custody in a money laundering case related to excise policy. The AAP has pledged to provide free electricity to households, open mohalla clinics, free healthcare, free education, Rs 1,000 per month for all women in Haryana, and jobs for young people.

Speaking at the event, Singh pleaded with the public to make sure the AAP forms Haryana’s government. He took aim at the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on a number of issues including the Agnipath scheme. Singh stated that the AAP offers “guarantees” while the BJP only makes “false and hollow” promises to the public.

The AAP has already declared that it will run for every one of Haryana’s ninety Assembly seats, arguing that the public is eager for change and full of hope. Despite participating in multiple elections in Haryana, the AAP has not yet tasted electoral triumph in the state.

  • Ahead Of Haryana Polls, BJP Appoints New Incharge; Will It Help Saffron Party? |

Ahead of the October Assembly elections in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Dr. Satish Punia and Rajya Sabha MP Surender Nagar as the incharge and co-incharge of the Haryana BJP, respectively. This announcement was made by BJP president JP Nadda as part of a pan-India release of incharges and co-incharges for state units.

Dr. Satish Punia, who previously served as the BJP president of Rajasthan, will take over from Biplab Deb, the Tripura MP and former chief minister.

    If Elections Were Today…

The timing of these appointments is crucial, as recent voting data at the Assembly segment level suggests a competitive race in Haryana. If elections were held today, the data indicates a split house, with the Opposition INDIA bloc likely emerging as the leading alliance. This prediction comes on the heels of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP’s performance saw a significant decline.

The party’s seat count dropped from a dominant position in 2019 to securing only five seats in the most recent elections, while the Congress matched this with five seats of their own. Moreover, the BJP’s vote share decreased from 58.21% to 46.11%, whereas the Congress saw an increase from 28.51% to 43.67%.

Despite contesting only one seat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) managed to raise its vote share from 0.36% to 3.94%, reflecting a growing influence in the region.

    Terrified From Strengthening Opposition

In the Assembly segments, the BJP led in 44 out of 90 seats, closely followed by the Congress with leads in 42 seats, and the AAP in the remaining four seats. Neither the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) nor the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) led in any segments.

This shows that the BJP would fall just short of the 46-seat majority mark needed to form a government. In contrast, the combined tallies of the Congress and AAP would grant the INDIA bloc a simple majority. However, the lack of an alliance between the Congress and AAP this time has provided the BJP with some breathing room.

    Balancing Caste Equations

The caste equations play a vital role in Haryana politics, which explains why the leading contenders go out of their way to balance them in the run-up to the polls. In Haryana, OBCs account for the largest chunk of voters at about 30%, followed by Jats at nearly 25%, and the Scheduled Castes (SCs) at about 20%. To effectively target the OBC community, the BJP has appointed Satish Punia as the co-incharge for the Haryana elections.

As the election date approaches, Punia and Nagar’s roles will be critical in shaping the party’s strategy and execution on the ground.

  • INDIA Bloc To Protest ‘Misuse’ Of Probe Agencies In Parliament Today |

New Delhi: After the INDIA bloc’s power display in the parliament last week over the NEET debate issue that prompted ruckus and later adjournment of the house, the Opposition is set to hold a demonstration against the central government over the alleged misuse of central agencies and the medical entrance exam ‘irregularities’ today.

At a press conference on Sunday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh announced that the alliance parties have decided to protest the central government.

“The parties of the INDIA bloc had unanimously decided that we will protest against the misuse of ED and CBI in the Parliament premises tomorrow at 10.30 am,” Singh stated, during a press conference at the AAP headquarters in Delhi on Sunday.

“This is a clear abuse of investigative agencies,” he remarked, noting that both the ED and CBI lack evidence against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia.

AAP leader added that the CBI has arrested Kejriwal on the instructions of the Central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On July 29, the Delhi Court ordered CM Kejriwal to be held in judicial custody until July 12 as part of the ongoing investigation into the excise policy case.

In response, the AAP held a protest on June 29 against the court’s decision. The demonstration took place in front of the BJP office in Delhi, drawing several AAP leaders and legislators.

Kejriwal had been arrested by the ED on March 21 this year.
