  • AAP-Congress To Decide Seat Share Soon; BJP Alleges Confusion In Alliance |

New Delhi: After the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held their first formal meeting on Monday to discuss seat-sharing arrangements under the INDIA bloc for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, AAP leaders said that a final decision on seat-sharing will be taken soon, whereas the BJP alleged that there’s confusion in the alliance.

The meeting comes amid rumours of discontent between the state units of the Congress and the AAP in Delhi and Punjab. AAP leader Atishi and other party leaders were present at the meeting held at Congress leader and convener of the Congress National Alliance Committee, Mukul Wasnik’s residence in the national capital to discuss the seat-sharing formula.

After the meeting, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj told ANI that they are positive that seats in the INDIA bloc will be finalised soon. “We are absolutely positive that seats in the INDIA bloc will be finalised soon. Even when a party decides its ticket, there are many contenders for every seat. Even in a party, there is a problem in candidate selection as to whom to give tickets and whom not to. In such a situation, when there are two or three parties, there will definitely be problems. But this can be solved. Soon, all the parties will be seen coming together on a common platform,” the Delhi Minister told ANI.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla took a dig at the meeting of AAP and Congress on seat sharing and said that there is some confusion in the INDIA bloc, adding that soon both parties will say, ‘Ek tha INDI gathbandhan’.

“There is some kind of confusion in the INDIA bloc. Today they are talking about seat sharing. There is confusion because they hold hands during the photo but they are not connected by heart. Bhagwant Mann once said ‘Ek thi Congress’, to which Pawan Khera said ‘Ek tha joker’. Very soon, both of them will say, ‘Ek tha INDI gathbandhan’,” the BJP leader told ANI.
Hitting out at the INDIA bloc, Poonawalla said that the alliance is filled with contradictions, which is why they haven’t finalised their agenda and logo till now.

“The INDI alliance is filled with contradictions, which is why, till now, they haven’t finalised their agenda. They even have not decided on their logo. AAP has been formed by finishing Congress from Punjab and Delhi. Will it be possible for the AAP to give the tickets to those whom they have finished?” the BJP leader added. As the countdown to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls has begun, the INDIA bloc has begun its seat-sharing talks in earnest.

The allocation of seats becomes pivotal for Congress, especially after recent electoral setbacks. Meanwhile, India’s political landscape is undergoing a significant transition as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near. The INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) consortium is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance.

The bloc is struggling to resolve key challenges, including finalising seat-sharing arrangements and, most importantly, deciding on a PM face, while the BJP has started executing strategies it laid out in 2023 to secure victory in general elections.

  • Hearing on petitions of Rahul, Sonia, Priyanka Gandhi and AAP postponed in Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has asked at what stage the court proceedings are. Why did the petitioner file the writ with a delay of five months? Justice Sanjeev Khanna said that delay in such cases can be fatal?

He said that, as far as concurrent jurisdiction is concerned, subject-matter jurisdiction and territorial jurisdiction are different. Generally we intervene only where there is a lack of subject-matter jurisdiction. Also, it is important to note that it is not being shifted out of Delhi. All this is in Delhi only.

Challenge the decision of Delhi High Court

Actually, the Supreme Court heard the petitions filed by Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka, Rahul Gandhi, Aadmi Party and five trusts. Everyone has challenged the decision of Delhi High Court. A demand has been made to stay the High Court’s decision. The High Court had upheld the Income Tax decision to transfer tax assessment to the central circle.

On May 26, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Aam Aadmi Party did not get relief. The Delhi High Court had upheld the Income Tax Department’s decision to transfer assessment to the central circle. The petitions challenging the decision to transfer the cases from faceless assessment to the Central Circle were rejected.

The High Court had said that there is no fundamental or inherent legal right to conduct assessment through faceless assessment. The assessment has been transferred as per law and for better coordination.

The transfer was in accordance with the law

The bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma had said that this transfer was as per the law. However, the court clarified that it did not examine the case on merits. The parties are free to present their arguments before the appropriate statutory authority.

Actually, the Income Tax Department had transferred the IT assessment of five non-profit organizations – Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, Young Indian and Jawahar Bhawan Trust. This was challenged in the Delhi High Court. The challengers included Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Aam Aadmi Party and Charitable Trust.

  • CBI started investigation in Delhi CM residence case, AAP said – still nothing will come out

In May this year, Delhi LG VK Saxena had written a letter to the CBI director demanding an investigation. The Home Ministry has ordered a CBI investigation into the alleged scam in Delhi CM residence. A special audit by the CAG has already been ordered by the Home Ministry in this matter.

Delhi CM’s residence is located at 6- Flag Staff Road. CBI has sought information from the PWD Department about issuing notices from time to time regarding change in the residence of the Chief Minister in the Notice of Issuance of Tender (NIT). It is being told that the preliminary investigation is not a criminal case, but it is the beginning of the criminal investigation. If evidence of wrongdoing is found, CBI will register a case.

In fact, BJP in Delhi has been alleging that Rs 45 crore was spent on the renovation of the CM’s bungalow. BJP has been claiming that curtains and marble worth lakhs of rupees were installed during the renovation.

What did Aam Aadmi Party say?

AAP said, “BJP has used all its strength to destroy Aam Aadmi Party. Today in the entire country, there is only Aam Aadmi Party which is seeking votes by doing excellent work in the field of education and health, but BJP does not want the poor to get good education and excellent health facilities. With this, BJP’s religion and caste politics will be defeated.

The party said, “This is why the country’s best education and health ministers, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, were put in jail. Now all the investigating agencies have been deployed to siege Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but the love and blessings of two crore people of Delhi are with Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP said, “Till now they have filed more than 50 cases against Arvind Kejriwal and got the investigation done.” Nothing came out in any of them. Nothing will come out of this either. No matter how much investigation BJP wants, Arvind Kejriwal will continue to fight for the interest of the common man. Arvind Kejriwal has sworn that he will make India the number one country in the world. Ready to pay any price for this.

    BJP said- welcome CBI investigation

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdev said, “BJP welcomes the start of CBI investigation into the luxurious palace of CM Arvind Kejriwal. BJP had been saying from the first day that there has been a lot of corruption in the renovation of this luxurious bungalow. Violation of rules. “Today when the CBI investigation has started, we welcome it. Hopefully the truth will come out.”

BJP had made these claims regarding Delhi CM House

Delhi BJP has made many allegations regarding Delhi CM House. According to BJP, Arvind Kejriwal spending approximately Rs 45 crore on his home and office during the 16 months of peak of Covid period is a big proof of his insensitivity. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra had said that out of the eight new curtains purchased for the residence, one cost more than Rs 7.94 lakh while the cheapest curtain was priced at Rs 3.57 lakh. Citing documents, Patra said marble worth more than Rs 1.15 crore was brought from Vietnam, while Rs 4 crore was spent on pre-fabricated wooden walls.

    Congress also made allegations

Congress also attacked Kejriwal and claimed that the amount spent on his residence was Rs 171 crore and not Rs 45 crore as reported earlier. Congress said that because their government had to buy additional flats for the officers whose houses had to be demolished or vacated for the expansion of the Chief Minister’s residential complex.
