    New Delhi: Vivo sub-brand iQOO has confirmed the specifications of the iQOO Z9 5G smartphone, including display, design, and chipset details. The iQOO Z9 5G is scheduled to launch on March 12 in India. This will be the company’s second smartphone launch in 2024.

    The smartphone will be available in Brushed Green and Graphene Blue colour options. With the launch just a week away, both Amazon and iQOO India have created dedicated microsites on their websites to tease the arrival of the iQoo Z9 5G smartphone.

    The iQoo Z9 5G will be loaded with a 5,000mAh battery, providing ample juice to keep you connected throughout the day. In terms of performance, the smartphone has showcased remarkable capabilities, achieving a score of 734,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking website. In design, the smartphone will sport flat edges and a sleek brushed pattern at the back, lending it a sophisticated and modern aesthetic.     New Delhi: The iQOO Neo 9 Pro, which was introduced in China in December 2023 alongside the vanilla iQOO Neo 9, will make its debut in India on February 22. The smartphone will be available for sale via Amazon and through iQOO India’s online store. Ahead of the official launch, the price of one of the variants of the iQOO Neo 9 Pro has leaked.

    A tipster has shared a product image on X (formerly Twitter) which shows the price of the smartphone. For the 8GB + 256GB variant, the price is listed at Rs 37,999. Moreover, the effective price of this variant can go down to Rs 34,999 after a bank offer of Rs 3,000. Previous reports suggest that the phone will be priced in India at under Rs. 40,000 for the second variant.

    In the camera department, the smartphone features a 50MP main camera with OIS support and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. However, the Amazon listing doesn’t provide any details about the selfie camera that will be packed with the smartphone.

This could be Realme GT 5 Pro. It comes with a 6.78-inch (1,264×2,780 pixels) AMOLED display. It has RAM options of 8 GB, 12 GB and 16 GB and storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. It has a curved display with a hole-punch cutout in the middle for the selfie camera. Its rear has a circular camera module with LED flash. Its design looks similar to Huawei Mate 50 series.     Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s Xiaomi 14 series will be launched on October 26. Earlier, the company has given information about the design and some specifications of Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro. Xiaomi 14 will have a 6.36 inch display with minimal bezels. The company has also shared camera samples of this smartphone on the Chinese messaging platform Weibo. Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will be provided with a Leica tuned rear camera unit and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC as processor. Xiaomi 14, the base model of this series, will have a 6.36 inch Huaxing C8 LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 460 ppi pixel density and adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Its peak brightness will be 3,000 nits. This smartphone will be made available in Rock Blue, Snow Mountain Pink and Classic Black colors. There is an improvement in the images in the camera samples given by Xiaomi. It will have a 75 mm telephoto lens. Xiaomi 14 series will have HyperOS operating system. Earlier, some leaks had suggested that Xiaomi 14 will have a 4,600 mAh battery with support for 90 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 14 Pro may pack a 4,860 mAh battery with support for 120 W wired fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. The company has planned to increase sales from retail stores in India. For the last few years, Xiaomi has been focusing on e-commerce websites. After lagging behind South Korea’s Samsung, Xiaomi is trying to increase its smartphone sales. There are more than 60 crore smartphone users in the country. However, online’s share in smartphone sales is 44 percent. Retail stores contribute significantly to these sales. Data from market research firm Counterpoint shows that only 34 percent of the company’s total sales this year came from retail stores. In comparison, Samsung’s offline sales are about 57 percent. In the third quarter of the current year, Xiaomi has secured second position in the country’s smartphone market with about 18 percent market share. It has benefited from launching affordable 5G smartphones. South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung has retained its first position in this market.

American company Apple, which manufactures iPhone, has the first position in this segment. The super premium smartphone segment consists of smartphones priced above $1,000 (approximately Rs 82,000). With Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the company aims to capture more than 50 percent share in the super premium segment. The company’s share in this segment is about 35 percent. The company’s share in the ultra premium category priced above Rs 45,000 has increased by 247 percent on year-on-year basis. However, Apple leads in this category with 62 percent share.
