  • Chhattisgarh Elections: Congress cuts tickets of 10 sitting MLAs in the second list, 9 women including former MP get a chance; Problem stuck on 7 seats

    Chhattisgarh Elections: Congress Party has released its second list for Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. There are names of 53 candidates in this list. Names of 7 assembly candidates have been withheld. Congress has canceled the tickets of 10 MLAs in its second list. Congress had released a list of 30 candidates in its first list, in which tickets of 8 MLAs were cut. Congress has given opportunity to 9 women including a former Rajya Sabha MP. Whereas names have been withheld from Raipur North, Mahasamund, Saraipali, Kasdol, Baikunthpur, Sihawa and Dhamtari seats. The names of the candidates have not been announced here due to some complications.

    Tickets of these MLAs were cut in the first list

    The MLAs whose tickets have been cut by Congress in the first list include Mamta Chandrakar from Pandaria, Chhanni Sahu from Khujji, Devati Karma from Dantewada, Anup Nag from Antagarh, Shishupal Sori from Kanker, Rajman Benzam from Chitrakote, Bhuvneshwar Baghel from Dongargarh, Navagarh. The name of Gurudayal Banjare is included. State Congress President and MP Deepak Baij is contesting the elections in place of Rajman Benjamin. In place of Devati Karma, her son Chhaviendra Karma has now been given a chance.

    New face on the only general seat of Bastar

    Let us tell you that elections are to be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh. The first phase of voting will be held on 7 November and the second phase on 17 November. Jagdalpur was the only Congress seat left for the first phase of elections, in which former mayor Jatin Jaiswal has now been given the ticket.     Chhattisgarh Congress Election War Room: As the date of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh is approaching, Congress has intensified preparations to sharpen the campaign. In this election battle, Congress is also taking great help of technology. For this, preparations are being made to fight the political battle from the hi-tech election ‘war room’ itself. Elections for all 90 seats of Chhattisgarh Assembly will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17 and counting of votes will take place on December 3.

    Chhattisgarh Congress has prepared a hi-tech election ‘war room’ in the capital Raipur before the assembly elections in the state, from where the party’s policies and promises will be taken to every home and public through digital medium of publicity.

    Ayush Pandey, National Coordinator of Social Media and Digital Communication of AICC in Chhattisgarh, said that this is a war room for election preparations. It is divided into several different verticals. While there is a ground campaign management unit, there is also a political analysis unit. This is social media management unit. The entire digital war is fought from here.

    Ayush Pandey told that the entire digital narrative is being set from this war room. All publications and advertisements are issued from here. At present a call center is also working here from 9 am to 10 pm. It will work 24 hours as elections approach.

    First list of 30 candidates released

    Congress on Sunday released the first list of names of its 30 candidates for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. In this list, the ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh has expressed confidence in the old leaders and also tried to give a chance to new faces to retain power in the state. It also includes the names of 22 sitting MLAs. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev, Assembly Speaker Charan Das Mahant and all the ministers have been included in the list.

    Along with these, the party has also fielded its state president and MP Deepak Baij. Congress has canceled the tickets of eight sitting MLAs and has decided to field six new faces. Of the 30 seats in the first list, 14 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and three for Scheduled Caste (SC), nine of the other 13 general seats have been given tickets to Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates.

    Voting on 20 seats in the first phase

    Let us tell you that voting for total 90 assembly seats of Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases on 7th and 17th November and counting of votes will take place on 3rd December. In the first phase, voting will be held on 20 seats considered Naxal affected and sensitive on November 7 and in the second phase, voting will be held on the remaining 70 seats on November 17.

    It is noteworthy that Congress had formed the government in the 2018 elections by winning 68 seats of the 90-member assembly. At the same time, BJP was reduced to 15 seats. JCC(J) and BSP had won five and seven seats respectively in the state. The current number of Congress MLAs in Chhattisgarh is 71. This time the party has set a target of winning 75 seats.

    Who is against Raman Singh?

    In the first phase, voting will be held for 20 assembly constituencies of the state. Of these, 19 are in control of Congress. BJP has one seat (Rajnandgaon) which is represented by Raman Singh. In the last assembly elections in 2018, Congress had fielded Karuna Shukla from Rajnandgaon, who had left BJP and joined Congress. In this election, Karuna Shukla lost to Raman Singh by a margin of 16,933 votes. Karuna Shukla died in 2021.

    In the complaint, a demand has been made to register FIR against 13 Congress leaders including former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey. Let us tell you that the public manifesto was released by the Congress Party before the 2018 assembly elections. 36 promises were made in this manifesto. Advocate Ashok Sharma has filed a complaint in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Punitram Gurupanch of Durg for not fulfilling the promises made in the manifesto.

    Court hearing on 25th September

    Ashok Sharma has requested the court to direct the police station to register an FIR against everyone under sections of cheating (Section 415), fraud (Section 420), conspiracy (Section 120B) and common intention (Section 34). This complaint is to be heard in the court on September 25.

    The promises of Congress public manifesto are deceitful and fraudulent.

    Advocate Ashok Sharma has mentioned in the complaint that every section of the state has been affected due to non-fulfillment of the promises of the public manifesto. The promises made in the manifesto were deceitful and fraudulent. People believed in the promises on which they voted in favor of the Congress candidates and formed their government and later forgot to fulfill those promises.

    These promises were not fulfilled

    It has been said in the complaint that Congress had made a total of 36 promises like prohibition of liquor in the state, free education to girl students, pension of Rs 1000 to citizens above 60 years of age and Rs 1,500 per month to citizens above 75 years of age. It was also claimed in the manifesto that all the promises would be fulfilled within five years of the formation of the government, but this did not happen. Now the assembly elections are near. Once the code of conduct is imposed, no work will be done to fulfill these promises.

    TS Singhdev was the convener of the manifesto committee.

    Advocate Ashok Sharma told that the present Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh TS Singhdev was the convenor of the Congress Manifesto Committee. Minister Mohammad Akbar, Minister Ravindra Choubey, Minister Shivkumar Dahria, Minister Umesh Patel, former minister Dr. Prem Singh Tekam, MLA Dhanendra Sahu, Rajya Sabha MP Phulo Devi Netam, MLA Shailesh Pandey and MLA Arun Vora were the members of the committee.

    Rahul and Jairam Ramesh made party

    Advocate Ashok Sharma said that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh had conspired to circulate this manifesto in print and electronic media, hence they have also been made a party. Ashok Sharma said that the hearing on the petition is on September 25. I will present the petition arguments. If satisfied, the court can order FIR. He also said that if the petition is rejected, he will approach the sessions court.

  • Congress gave big responsibility to Haryana leader Selja in Chhattisgarh, announced election committees

    Congress has started implementing its strategies for Chhattisgarh assembly elections. In this series, Congress has approved the formation of its various committees for Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday approved the proposal regarding formation of these committees with immediate effect. These committees include Core Committee, Election Campaign Committee, Communication Committee. CM Bhupesh Baghel and his deputy TS Singh Deo have been given a place in the Election Campaign Committee along with the Core Committee.

    It is worth noting that Haryana leader Kumari Shailja has been given a big responsibility in Chhattisgarh. He has been made the convenor of the core committee. The names of Bhupesh Baghel, TS Singh Dev, Deepak Baij, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Tamradhwaj Sahu and Shiv Kumar Dahria are included in this committee. Dr. Charan Das Mahant has been made the convenor of the Election Campaign Committee. Bhupesh Baghel, TS Singh Deo, Dr. Charan Das Mahant and Tamradhwaj Sahu have also been given place in the Election Campaign Committee.

    Other members of the Election Campaign Committee include Shiv Kumar Dahria, Ravindra Chabey, Mohd. Names of a total of 74 leaders including Akbar, Kawasi Lakhma, Premsai Singh Tekam, Jai Singh Aggarwal, Amarjeet Bhagat, Guru Rudra Kumar, Mohan Markam, Umesh Patel, Sant Kumar Netam, Jyotsna Mahant, Rajiv Shukla, Ranjit Ranjan are included. The official statement issued by the party said that the Congress President has given his approval to the proposal of forming committees for the upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh with immediate effect.

    Apart from Chhattisgarh ministers Mohan Markam and Umesh Patel, Phulo Devi Netam and KTS Tulsi are also part of the election campaign committee. The party has also constituted a 15-member communication committee. Ravindra Choubey has been made the chairman of the communication committee while Rajesh Tiwari and Vinod Verma have been made the coordinators. Whereas Sushil Anand Shukla has been made the coordinator of its communication committee. The party has also formed a protocol committee consisting of 25 members. Its president will be Amarjeet Bhagat, convenor Shiv Singh Thakur and coordinator Ajay Sahu.
