  • The pigeon fell on the ground as soon as SP shooed it away, now SP has written a letter to the collector, demanding action against those responsible

Rohit Kashyap, Mungeli. The incident of SSP Girija Shankar Jaiswal not letting the pigeons fly during the Independence Day celebrations held in Mungeli district on August 15 made headlines on social media. After the video of the incident went viral, the SSP has taken the matter very seriously. The SSP has written a letter to Collector Rahul Dev demanding disciplinary action against the responsible officer.

SSP Girija Shankar Jaiswal has written in a letter to Collector Rahul Dev that a sick pigeon was given to fly, due to which it fell on the ground. He has also said that if this incident had been caused by the chief guest i.e. MLA Punnulal Mohle, then a more unpleasant situation would have been faced. SSP has also said that before the event, the responsibility was assigned after holding a meeting of departmental officers. But the pigeon not flying on the occasion of the national festival shows that the responsible officer has not done the work responsibly. Here, Collector Rahul Dev, while talking about receiving the letter of SSP, told Lalluram.com that the letter has been received and appropriate action will be taken after investigation.

Know what the SSP has demanded in the letter written to the Collector

The SSP has written in the letter that on 15 August 2024, during the major flag hoisting program in Mungeli district, a pigeon fell on the ground while being flown. The incident of a pigeon falling on the ground during a major national festival like Independence Day was prominently broadcast on social media and other media. This situation arose due to presenting a sick pigeon for flying in the major flag hoisting program at the district level. If this incident had been caused by the chief guest of the program, the Honorable MLA, then an even more unpleasant situation could have been faced.

Before Independence Day, a meeting of all the department heads was held and they were instructed to perform their respective tasks in a strong manner and were given responsibilities so that the Independence Day celebrations could be completed successfully. Certainly, the officer responsible for this task has not discharged his responsibility properly. Therefore, it is proposed to take disciplinary action against the officer responsible for the above incident.
