Raipur. The state government has extended the tenure of Director General of Police Ashok Juneja by six months. The Home Department has issued an order in this regard on Sunday.

In an order issued by the Home (Police) Department, on the proposal of the State Government, the All India Services (Death cum Retirement Benefits) Rules have been relaxed in the public interest and an extension of 6 months in the service period of the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) beyond 04.08.2024 has been approved.

With this order, DGP Ashok Juneja will now remain in office till February 2025. Earlier, on the proposal of the Union Home Ministry, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet had approved a six-month extension.

Raipur. The newly constructed building of 100-bed NKD hospital equipped with state-of-the-art healthcare facilities is going to be inaugurated on Sunday, 4th August in Birgaon of the capital Raipur. Honourable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnudev Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will attend this special function as the chief guest.

100-bedded hospital will have state-of-the-art facilities

Hospital Director Dr. Vedprakash Dewangan said that with the inauguration of the newly constructed building of NKD Hospital, a new era of advancement of health services is going to begin. He said that the hospital is known for providing excellent health services for the last 10 years. This new 100-bedded hospital will have state-of-the-art facilities like state-of-the-art ICU, modular operation theater (OT), private and general wards, dialysis unit, burn unit, high dependency unit (HDU), sonography, digital X-ray, CT scan, pathology, and blood bank.

Serving people for 100 years

Dr. Dewangan said, “Our aim is to provide the best health services to the people of Chhattisgarh. With the inauguration of this new health center, we are taking our commitment and dedication to a new level. It is a matter of pride for us that our entire family is serving in the field of medicine. The construction of the new building of the hospital has been completed in about 4 years, but 100 years of history of the NKD family is involved in reaching here.

According to Dr. Devangan, more than 6 generations of his family have been working as Vaidyaraj in the medical field. He told that our ancestors provided medical services to the people through ancient methods. The first doctor of the family, Dr. N.K. Devangan, after receiving his modern medical education in 1983, started serving as the first doctor of Birgaon, which brought a lot of relief to the people of the area, along with him Dr. Rajkumari Devangan also provided service in this area. Along with medicine, the family is also providing its services in the political field and the field of education, in which the current mayor of Birgaon Corporation, Nandlal Devangan, who is serving the city residents and has been providing services by joining this field through Vivek Medical Stores and Priya Medical Stores for more than 35 years. Before this, two-time elected former mayor Dr. Omprakash Devangan, after providing medical services for 15 years, is trying to make the future of children bright by improving the education system through political service and Raipur Public School.

Started in 2014 with a 30 bed multispecialty hospital

Dr. Devangan told that in the year 2014 NKD Hospital was started in Birgaon as a 30 bed multispecialty hospital, which provided a lot of relief to the people of the area in emergency situations. Dr. Dev Prakash Devangan, the first bone and joint specialist of Birgaon area, who studied MBBS from Raipur Medical College & Hospital (Mekahara) and then from D.Y. After completing his studies, he became a surgeon in Bone & Joint Diseases from Patil Medical College, Mumbai and was posted as Senior Registrar in the Department of Orthopedics at Mekara for two years. In the last 12 years of his medical career, he has gained fame in entire Chhattisgarh by successfully operating and treating thousands of patients. Along with him, the only Gynecologist of the region, Dr. Preeti Dewangan, who has done MBBS from Mekara, then became MS, DNB (Surgeon-Obstetrician & Gynecologist) and is continuously serving in the hospital. Dr. Sunita Dewangan (Dentist) and all the other doctors and the team have earned the trust of the people by continuously providing medical services to the patients, due to which now NKD Hospital is ready for medical service with 100 bedded superspeciality facilities.

The entire planning and construction of this new hospital building has been done under the supervision of Engr. Sandeep Devangan and Engr. Swati Devangan (Director – NKD Builder and Planner) of NKD family. In the inauguration ceremony, along with the welcome ceremony, a tour of various departments of the new hospital building and a display of medical equipment will also be held.

More than 50 students of Post Matric Hostel Geedam reached the Collectorate today in school uniform and sat on a dharna in front of the Collectorate office with their demands. They made serious allegations against the ashram superintendent and questioned the arrangements. The students say that the ashram has become completely dilapidated. Due to heavy rain late at night, a piece of the roof fell on a sleeping student. Fortunately, the injury was not serious due to the mosquito net, but one student has suffered an injury on his shoulder. The students are protesting in front of the Collectorate regarding this problem and they say that they will not go back without meeting the collector. The hostel building can cause a major accident anytime.

The students made serious allegations against the superintendent Satyabhan Bhaskar and said that the superintendent drinks alcohol and abuses the children. The superintendent enters the children’s rooms at midnight every day and beats them. He wakes up the sleeping children and beats them with sticks and belts. All the children are terrified and have gathered courage and left the ashram. The students say that they will not go back without meeting the collector and if action is not taken against the superintendent, it will become difficult to stay in the ashram. The students sitting outside the collector’s office are shouting slogans, “Collector sahab come, give us darshan.”

Heartless superintendent, no officer reaches, whom to complain to

The students told the media that they are fed up of the Superintendent’s harassment. The Superintendent has been beating them mercilessly for years. The ashram has 100 seats, but the Superintendent has also kept college students in the ashram, due to which the crowd has increased a lot. Three children lie on one bed. The ashram has become completely dilapidated and water drips from the roof. This roof can fall anytime, which can cause a big accident. This problem was told to the Superintendent many times, but he ignored it. Due to fear and panic, the children never got the courage to come out and complain. No officer ever comes to the ashram. The children do not even know the Mandal Convenor. The Superintendent’s attitude has never been good with the students.

All the students are scared of superintendent Don, they are not getting food as per the menu

The allegations of the students did not stop here. They said that they never get food as per the menu. They get soup like water with turmeric and salt, which contains only a few grains. Vegetables are also of the same kind and they never get eggs. There is a chart in the ashram, but the superintendent does not provide food as per the menu. The reason behind this is that all the students are afraid of the superintendent Don.

Repair work worth more than 20 lakhs in last three years

In the last three years, repair work worth more than 20 lakh rupees has been done here by the District Panchayat and the Tribal Development Department. Engineer Khan says that the District Panchayat installed tiles, putty, aluminum windows and did other repair work for about 12 lakhs. It has been three years since this work was done. After this, the Tribal Development Department also got some work done, but its cost is not known. Engineer Netam of the Tribal Development Department said that an estimate was made, but the work was not done. If work has been done there, then I do not have any information.

Bilaspur. A heart wrenching incident has come to light from the judicial capital Bilaspur. Here, the head of a minor working in Vishal Electricals Shop located in Juna Para got stuck in the open lift while carrying electronic goods to the fourth floor. After this, he reached the fourth floor by dragging his head for 10 feet from the lift and the wall. Due to which he died a painful death on the spot.

When the shop owner Bharat Hariani reached the shop, he saw blood flowing from near the lift, after which he hurriedly reached the fourth floor and was shocked to see the scene in front of him. After which he informed the police about the incident.

After getting information about the incident, the City Kotwali police reached the spot and started investigating the case. In this case, Kotwali police station in-charge SR Sahu confirmed the incident and said that the name of the deceased is Sumit Kewat (age 15 years). He used to work in Vishal Electricals Shop. He told that today at around 11 am, when he was taking some goods to the fourth floor of the shop, his head got stuck in the lift, due to which he died on the spot.

It is worth noting that according to the labor law, no minor can be made to work in a private institution, but a 15-year-old boy was working in an electronic shop. Due to which questions are being raised on the shop owner for making a minor work. At the same time, the shop owner Bharat Hariani says that Sumit did not work in his shop. Sumit’s mother works in his house for the last 15 years, during this time she used to leave her son for four hours. Sumit did not even come to work every day. He came today after three days, when this accident happened.

Kotwali TI SR Sahu said that a notice has been issued to the shop owner, in which documents have been sought from the Municipal Corporation on permission for a 4-storey shop and the rules of the lift. A letter has also been sent to the Electricity Department so that the safety standards of the lift can be checked and a report can be obtained. Further action will be taken on the basis of the report and documents.
