  • Chhattisgarh Elections: Congress cuts tickets of 10 sitting MLAs in the second list, 9 women including former MP get a chance; Problem stuck on 7 seats

    Chhattisgarh Elections: Congress Party has released its second list for Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. There are names of 53 candidates in this list. Names of 7 assembly candidates have been withheld. Congress has canceled the tickets of 10 MLAs in its second list. Congress had released a list of 30 candidates in its first list, in which tickets of 8 MLAs were cut. Congress has given opportunity to 9 women including a former Rajya Sabha MP. Whereas names have been withheld from Raipur North, Mahasamund, Saraipali, Kasdol, Baikunthpur, Sihawa and Dhamtari seats. The names of the candidates have not been announced here due to some complications.

    – Bilaigarh- Chandradev Rai
    – Raipur Rural- Satyanarayan Sharma
    – Jagdalpur- Rekhchand Jain
    – Manendragarh- Vinay Jaiswal
    – Pratappur- Premsai Singh Tekam
    – Ramanujganj- Brihaspati Singh
    – Samaritan- Chintamani Maharaj
    – Lailunga- Chakradhar Sidar
    – Pali-Tanakhar- Mohit Kerketta

    Tickets of these MLAs were cut in the first list

    The MLAs whose tickets have been cut by Congress in the first list include Mamta Chandrakar from Pandaria, Chhanni Sahu from Khujji, Devati Karma from Dantewada, Anup Nag from Antagarh, Shishupal Sori from Kanker, Rajman Benzam from Chitrakote, Bhuvneshwar Baghel from Dongargarh, Navagarh. The name of Gurudayal Banjare is included. State Congress President and MP Deepak Baij is contesting the elections in place of Rajman Benjamin. In place of Devati Karma, her son Chhaviendra Karma has now been given a chance.

    New face on the only general seat of Bastar

    Let us tell you that elections are to be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh. The first phase of voting will be held on 7 November and the second phase on 17 November. Jagdalpur was the only Congress seat left for the first phase of elections, in which former mayor Jatin Jaiswal has now been given the ticket. The ticket of current MLA Rekhchand Jain has been canceled. Congress has completed its first phase of seats. Voting for 20 seats in the first phase will be held on November 7. Voting will be held on 70 seats in the second phase. The results will come on December 3. The Congress party has currently withheld the names of candidates from seven assembly constituencies. The screw is stuck on these seats.
