  • Pro-Pakistan Slogans In Delhi House: Police Probing Terror Angle |

New Delhi: A man was arrested in Rohini after receiving a complaint that he had written pro-Pakistan slogans on the wall of his flat, officials said. The incident came to light after a video filmed by a resident of capital city’s Avantika area garnered attention on social media. In the clip, the resident begins by sharing his location (Avantika C-Block) and then discusses having received information about a nearby building covered in pro-Pakistan slogans.

The local points out the building that he asserts has pro-Pakistan posters. He then enters the building with a group of people, including police officers. Inside, he shows the viewers the posters and comments that it looks like the building is occupied by a ‘terrorist organization.’ The posters feature extensive messages about Pakistan, and one prominently displays the phrase “Long Live Pakistan.”

The apartment featured in the clip appears small and dimly lit, cluttered with utensils and old, rusty furniture. As they proceed into a dark room with almost no visibility, they discover an elderly man sitting on the floor, seemingly holding an alcoholic beverage. The man becomes visible only when some individuals switch on their mobile flashlights.

The local then starts questioning the individual, asking why he is engaging in such actions while residing in India. Meanwhile, others present can be heard suggesting the man appears mentally unstable and shouting remarks like, “(Tujhe Pakistan jaana hain toh Pakistan jaa) If you want to go to Pakistan, then go to Pakistan!”

The individual being questioned seemed in an intoxicated state, he insisted, “Only one person will ask a question at a time; I will not answer otherwise.” When one person complies and asks why he is acting this way, he responds, “It is my love for Pakistan.” He then continues to question why everyone is interrogating him. Those present there warned him by saying that he should not engage in such behavior while in India.

“We got information from locals that a man staying at Avantika C-Block area of Rohini wrote some slogans supporting Pakistan on a wall of his flat. Initial investigation suggested that the man is not mentally stable and stays in the flat alone,” a senior police officer told PTI.

The officer further stated that they were investigating whether the man had any ties to Pakistan or any organisation.

  • Delhi Water Shortage: Atishi Urges Delhi Police Commissioner To Protect Major Pipelines |

New Delhi: As Delhi is suffering from a water crisis, AAP leader and Delhi  Minister Atishi Marlena wrote a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and urged him to deploy the police personnel across the major pipelines of the national capital to protect it from miscreants.

In the letter to the commissioner, She requested police personnel to patrol and protect our major pipelines for the next 15 days.

“To stop miscreants or people with ulterior motives from tampering with water pipelines which have now become Delhi’s lifelines. At this juncture, any foul play and sabotage will worsen the already difficult water shortage being faced by the people of Delhi,” said in the letter, ANI reported.

She further said that the Delhi Jal Board has patrolling teams for our main water distribution network which carries raw water to the Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) and then from our WTPs to our main underground reservoirs in different parts of the city.

Atishi said that the ground patrolling team found damaged water supply pipelines in places like South Delhi Rising Mains which carries water from Sonia Vihar WTP to South Delhi.

“This was near the DTL substation in Garhi Medhu. Our patrolling team found that several large 375 mm bolts and one 12-inch bolt had been cut from the pipeline, causing the leakage- The fact that several large bolts had been cut seems to indicate foul play and sabotage,” she said in a letter.

Atishi further mentioned that the maintenance team worked for six hours to fix the leakage issue, worsening the water shortage in South Delhi.

“Our maintenance team worked for six hours continuously and repaired the leakage, but this meant that we had to stop pumping water for 6 hours and 20 MGD of water was not pumped during this time. As a consequence, a further 25 per cent of water shortage will be experienced in South Delhi,” the letter read.

  • ‘Conspiracy To Arrest Me, Summons Illegal’: Arvind Kejriwal Says Ready For Legal Battle Against ED |

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday refused to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor scam case, calling the summons “false” and “illegal”. He also accused the BJP-led central government of using the ED and other agencies to harass and intimidate him and his party leaders ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said that he has explained to the ED why their summons is illegal and that he will not obey an unlawful order. He said that his biggest strength and asset is his honesty and that he has always fought for the country.

“In the last two years, all the agencies of BJP have conducted many raids but not a single penny was found. If there is corruption then where is the money? AAP leaders are kept in jail in such fake cases. Now BJP wants to arrest me. My biggest strength and asset is my honesty,” he said.

    — Zee News (@ZeeNews) January 4, 2024

He also questioned the timing of the notice, saying that the BJP wants to stop him from campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. He said that he had cooperated with the CBI when they had called him eight months ago, but now the ED is trying to implicate him in a 31-year-old case.

“My lawyers told me that the summons was illegal, I wrote the question and sent it to ED. Should I obey an unlawful summon? If a legal summons comes, I will comply with it. Why am I being called just before the Lok Sabha elections? Eight months ago I was called by CBI, I went and gave all the answers. Today they want to stop me from campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections,” he added.

Kejriwal also alleged that the BJP is using the ED to lure opposition leaders into joining their party and that they are targeting honest leaders like Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair. He appealed to the people to support him in his fight against the BJP’s “politics of hatred and vendetta”.

“Today, opposition leaders are being included in the BJP through ED. Whoever joins his party, all his matters get resolved. Today honest leaders like Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair have been put in jail. I have always fought for the country. Every breath of mine is for the country. We have to save the country together. I am fighting against them with all my heart, I need your support,” he said.

The ED had issued a third summons to Kejriwal on December 22 last year, asking him to appear before the agency on January 3. The summons was in relation to a case registered by the ED in 2019 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against some liquor companies and government officials for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 1,000 crore to the Delhi government by evading excise duty.

Kejriwal, in his reply to the ED, had expressed his readiness to cooperate with the investigation but declined to appear on the summoned date, calling the notice “illegal”. He had also questioned the agency for not responding to his earlier replies when the summons was sent to him and he had raised certain queries on the nature of the agency’s investigation.

In his written reply to the ED, the Delhi CM had said “As a premier investigating agency the non-disclosure and non-response approach adopted by you cannot sustain the test of law, equity or justice. Your obstinacy is tantamount to assuming the role of judge, jury and executioner at the same time which is not acceptable in our country governed by the rule of law.”

“In these circumstances, I urge you to respond to my earlier response and clarify the position so as to enable me to understand the real intent, ambit, nature, sweep and scope of the purported inquiry/investigation for which I am being called” he had added in his response.
