  • ‘Naya Savera’ campaign of Gariaband police against drugs: 422 liters of illegal liquor seized in one month, 186 accused sent to jail

    Purushottam Patra, Gariaband. Gariaband police is running “Naya Savera” campaign against drugs in the district. For de-addiction, the police has also formed Village Defense Committee in total 22 villages. Due to this, till now in just one month, 422 liters of illicit liquor has been seized in 186 cases and action has been taken against 186 accused.

    Under the direction and supervision of Gariaband Police Captain Amit Tukaram Kamble. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police DC Patel, organized and effective efforts are being made against drugs. At present, people are continuously getting trapped in the trap of drug addiction. The youth and children of the society are increasingly becoming victims of drug addiction. To eliminate this rapidly spreading disease of addiction, Gariaband Police has started a special campaign “Naya Savera”.

    This scheme was launched by Superintendent of Police Gariaband on 21 December 2023. Under this campaign, the police is continuously taking action in the identified villages. In one month, while taking action against illegal liquor smuggling, about 422 liters of illegal liquor was seized in 186 cases and a total of 186 accused were sent to jail.

    Continuing its efforts in de-addiction, Gariaband Police has formed Village Defense Committee in a total of 22 villages, which is working to create awareness in the villages against drug addiction. At the same time, they are also cooperating in the police proceedings. Due to the efforts of the police, the illegal drug trade has gradually reduced. Illegal liquor trade has almost completely stopped in the identified villages. Through Naya Savera, awareness has come among the youth of the village, who are opposing the illegal drugs taking place in the village.

    From time to time, Village Defense Committee is also cooperating in the arrest and arrest of illegal liquor. Police is continuously taking action on complaints lodged by villagers regarding illegal liquor sale in Naya Savera mobile number – 62669-56736. Under this scheme, at present 22 villages have been identified and Village Defense Committee has been formed. Also, this scheme will be expanded by identifying other villages.

    The wheelchair itself is on the ventilator in Mekahara. Patients are getting injured by falling from wheelchairs. Here seriously injured patients can die at any time. Accident patients and surgery patients are at greater risk from faulty wheelchairs. Those who recovered after falling from the wheelchair are becoming patients again. Some wheelchairs have missing wheels and some have no legs at all. The footrest of the wheelchair has been made by tying rope and bandage. At some places, the relatives of the patients are forced to carry the patients in two wheelers.

    Dozens of ward boys have been deployed in the hospital, but all were missing. Regarding this matter, Hospital Superintendent Dr. SBS Netam said, orders have been issued for all the stations that require repairing. After all, why were the wheelchairs not repaired even after the order was issued? After finding out this, we will take action against the guilty employees.   • Bloody game between brothers in CG: When the younger brothers tried to satisfy the bank loan, they beat the elder brother to death, one accused arrested

    Purushottam Patra, Gariaband. A case of murder of a brother has come to light in the district due to a dispute between brothers regarding loan repayment. The police took action in the case and arrested an accused. This matter is of Piparchhedi police station area.

    According to the information, when Jujhar Singh of Bijapani village of Piparchhedi police station area asked his other two brothers to repay the loan taken from the cooperative bank by stabbing them from the Samilat account, his younger brothers Devin Singh and Lalit Singh Sori attacked him on the back with a piece of wood. By doing this he was injured. Jujhar Singh, who was injured in the incident, died due to not getting timely treatment. On the complaint of the injured wife Rukhmani Bai, Piparchedi police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused younger brother.

    The victim told that when her husband asked her to settle the old loan, both her brothers beat her to death. While preparing to file a complaint regarding the assault incident, the husband died. In this case, Additional SP DC Patel said that the incident took place on the afternoon of 23 January. After receiving the information, a crime was registered late in the night and the accused were arrested. After post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the family members. Further action is underway in the case.

    Balrampur. Santosh Kushwaha’s newborn child had died three months ago under Raghunathnagar police station.     Actually, the ASI posted at Raghunathnagar police station was demanding money from the victim saying that he had given milk powder to the child. Due to which he died. Saying this, the ASI started demanding money from the victim again and again. When the money was not given, ASI Jabalun Kujur along with a constable reached the house of victim Santosh Kushwaha. After which he was called to the police station and demanded Rs 20 thousand from Santosh. ASI Jabalun Kujur took the first installment of Rs 9,000 from the victim’s father. Santosh was released from the police station on the promise of giving Rs 11,000 after a day.

    When the matter came to the notice of the media, the ASI returned the Rs 9,000 taken from the victim in front of the media. It is being told that Santosh Kushwaha’s wife died during delivery and a baby girl was born. Who was being brought up by his father. But after 15 days the girl also died during treatment. Whose post-mortem was also done in Vadrafnagar Civil Hospital.

    After this incident, a complaint was lodged by Santosh’s in-laws in Raghunathnagar police station that the newborn girl had been deliberately killed. At present, SP Dr. Lal Umaid Singh has taken cognizance of the matter and suspended the ASI.

  • CG NEWS: Arvind Verma appointed Justice of High Court, Central Government issued notification on the proposal of Supreme Court Collegium.

    Raipur. On the proposal of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Central Government has made various appointments in the Chhattisgarh High Court. Notification has also been issued in this regard. According to the issued notification, Registrar General of the High Court, Arvind Verma has been made the Justice of the High Court. With this appointment, there are now a total of 16 judges in Chhattisgarh High Court. The Supreme Court collegium had sent a proposal to the Central Government to make Arvind Kumar a judge. After which a notification has been issued to appoint him as a judge.

    Arvind Kumar Verma has previously served as District and Sessions Judge in Jagdalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur. Arvind Verma was made the Registrar General of Chhattisgarh High Court from 5 May 2022. Now he has got a chance to become a High Court judge.
