  • FIR against Anand Mahindra: Company issued statement on FIR against Anand Mahindra in air bag failure case

    FIR against Anand Mahindra: Recently an FIR was registered against Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Chairman Anand Mahindra and 12 employees of his company, due to which the air bags of Mahindra Scorpio car did not work during the accident. Had to do. This FIR was lodged by a person resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The allegation is of fraud. Let us tell you that the driver lost his life in this accident. Now, a statement has been issued by this company on this matter. Let us know the whole matter. Rajesh Mishra, living in Kanpur, bought Mahindra Scorpio in December 2020. Then Rs 17.39 lakh was paid for it. The person had gifted a Scorpio car to his son. The vehicle met with an accident on January 14, 2022. While returning from Lucknow to Kanpur, the vehicle collided with the divider due to fog and overturned. Rajesh Mishra’s son Apoorva lost his life in the accident. After the incident, on January 29, Rajesh told about the defects in the car at the dealership. Also informed that his son was wearing seat belt, but the airbags did not deploy during the accident. Said that the car was sold to him fraudulently. The complainant says that if the car had been sold after testing, his son would not have died in the accident. The complainant also alleged that the company employees argued with him when he complained. At the behest of the company manager, the complainant’s family was subjected to indecency. He was given death threats. Now, after this matter, Mahindra & Mahindra has issued an official statement saying that “The matter is more than 18 months old and the reported incident took place in January 2022.” The statement further reads, “We would like to clearly state that the Scorpio S9 variants manufactured in 2020 had airbags, we conducted an investigation and found no defect in the airbags.” The company further said in its statement, “This was a rollover case in which the front airbag does not deploy. It is also reported that in October 2022, the company had completed the detailed technical investigation of the case and now the case is under consideration. The company also said it is “committed to cooperating with authorities in any further investigations.”

  • Congress toolkit case: FIR against Raman Singh and Sambit Patra will be cancelled, order of Chhattisgarh High Court

    Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday ordered cancellation of FIR against former state Chief Minister Raman Singh and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra in the toolkit case. BJP leaders’ advocate Vivek Sharma said that the double bench of Chief Justice in Chhattisgarh High Court has given relief to Singh and Patra in the toolkit case. The court has ordered to cancel the FIR registered against both the leaders.

    Sharma said that after the hearing on September 12, the court had reserved the decision. While giving this verdict on Wednesday, the court accepted that no criminal case is made out against the two leaders. The advocate said that on May 18, 2021, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh had posted an alleged toolkit against Congress in his Twitter account and a similar post was also made by Sambit Patra. He told that on this post, the youth wing of Congress had filed a case against Singh and Patra at Azad Chowk police station in Raipur on 19 May 2021. Both the leaders had filed a petition in the court to cancel the FIR.

    He told that after the initial hearing in the case, the court had given interim relief to both the leaders and put a stay on the police investigation and action. The final hearing in the case was held on September 12, 2023 before a division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Judge NK Chandravanshi. The judge had reserved the decision after hearing both the sides. The advocate said that senior advocates Mahesh Jethmalani and Vivek Sharma had represented the BJP leaders. Sharma said that the High Court has accepted the petition of both the leaders and has ordered to cancel the FIR registered against them. The court has said that no criminal case is made out against both of them in this case.
