  • IND vs SL: Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir’s Reaction Goes Viral As India Batters Choke In 1st ODI Vs Sri Lanka, See PICS | cricket news

After electing to bat first, Sri Lanka bounced back from 101/5 to post a solid total of 230 runs. Dunith Wellalage’s fifty which got three crucial partnerships enroute his innings helped the hosts get in the game against a high quality Indian side. Chasing 231, captain Rohit Sharma picked up right from where he left last month with his tremendous form with a 33-ball half-century. India were 71 without a loss but Sri Lanka came in handy for their skipper Asalanka who in the end became the hero for his side with his bowling.

In the end it came to Shivam Dube who almost got the job done for the Men in Blue. India needed 1 run with a wicket in hand after Dube’s dismissal but Arshdeep Singh went for the big one and got LBW which handed a draw to both sides. Kohli sitting with Gambhir in the dressing room was shocked along with his coach after the match turned out of India’s favor at the last moment.

The total was better than what it looked on the board due to conditions which are heavily loaded in favor of slow bowlers. Wellalage’s 67 not out off 65 balls had seven fours and two sixes in it. Nissanka made 56 off 75 balls. Left-arm orthodox spinner Axar Patel (2/33 in 10 overs) and wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav (1/33 in 10 overs) were economical while seamers Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj also chipped in with a wicket apiece. In last 20 overs, 118 runs were scored.

Chasing, skipper Rohit Sharma made 58 off 47 balls, while Axar Patel (33) and KL Rahul (31) also chipped in with contributions but couldn’t finish off the game.Charith Asalanka (3/30) and Wanindu Hasaranga (3/30) 58) were the pick of the bowlers for the hosts. • Well Done, Buddy Says Hardik Pandya On Suryakumar Yadav’s Captaincy As Head Coach Gambhir Delivers Amazing Speech | cricket news

Newly appointed India head coach Gautam Gambhir has kicked off his tenure with a commanding 3-0 T20I series victory over Sri Lanka. In his post-series address, Gambhir praised the team’s performance and particularly praised Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership. The comments were highlighted in a video released by the BCCI on social media.

Gambhir began his speech by extending congratulations to the team and captain Suryakumar Yadav. He emphasized the significance of their triumph, noting that their relentless effort and determination were key to their success. “Congratulations on a great series win. Special congratulations to Surya for his outstanding captaincy and his impressive performances with the bat,” Gambhir said. He acknowledged the team’s ability to fight hard for every delivery and run, which he believed was crucial to their series victory.

The new head coach reflected on the game’s challenges and urged his players to continue improving their skills, especially in adapting to varied pitch conditions. He stressed the importance of assessing match situations quickly and understanding what constitutes a competitive score. “There’s a lot of learning from this series. We need to keep getting better, especially in handling different types of wickets,” Gambhir advised. He also set a clear expectation for the players to maintain high fitness levels in preparation for the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

Gambhir concluded his speech with a call to action regarding fitness. He informed the players who would not participate in the 50-over format to use their break wisely and ensure they return in top condition. “Make sure that when you come back for the Bangladesh series, your fitness levels are at their peak. You don’t want to return thinking you can just turn up and perform without proper preparation,” Gambhir cautioned.

Following Gambhir’s remarks, all-rounder Hardik Pandya took the floor to share his thoughts. Pandya echoed Gambhir’s praise for Suryakumar Yadav, highlighting his crucial role in both batting and captaincy. “First of all, well done! I think in batting first, we were challenged, and conditions were difficult, but I think after losing those early wickets Shubman (Gill) and Riyan (Parag) the way they batted and created the partnership was brilliant. When you speak about situational awareness, I think that point of time, what you both did was very, very important. And that gave us a platform to at least reach a decent total which our bowlers made sure bowl at the right areas. Especially, I always emphasize on the fact that the lower order has to come and chip in and I think Washi (Washington Sundar) and those 8 runs by Bishi (Ravi Bishnoi) were very important.”

“As Gauti bhai mentioned, Surya, well done on making sure that the way you rotated the bowlers, making sure, showing faith in the bowlers, which you gave in the last couple of overs. That was brilliant. And as a bowling group, obviously it was fantastic everyone chipped in, eventually it kind of takes us forward. done to all the guys who are playing ODIs, kill it!,” he said.

India will now shift focus to the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, though Suryakumar Yadav will not be part of this next leg of fixtures. The team’s preparation and performance in the ODI series will be crucial as they aim to build on their T20I success.

  • Who ended the fight between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir? Amit Mishra Answers | Cricket News

In the high-octane world of the Indian Premier League (IPL), emotions often run high, and rivalries can become intense. One such heated moment in IPL 2023 was the much-discussed confrontation between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. This incident, which captured the attention of cricket fans worldwide, has now taken an intriguing turn with former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra revealing key details about how the feud was resolved.

The Incident: A Flashpoint in IPL 2023

The confrontation between Kohli and Gambhir occurred during a tense match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). It began as a war of words involving Kohli and LSG’s Naveen-ul-Haq, with Mishra attempting to mediate. Tempers flared further during the customary post-match handshake, culminating in a heated exchange between Kohli and Gambhir, who is the mentor for LSG.

Players and support staff from both teams had to step in to separate the two, highlighting the intensity of the situation. Fans and analysts speculated endlessly about the causes and implications of this clash, but the true story of its resolution remained under wraps—until now.

    Gautam Gambhir: The Peacemaker

Amit Mishra, in a candid conversation on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, unveiled that it was Gautam Gambhir who took the initiative to end the feud with Virat Kohli. Contrary to popular belief, it was not Kohli but Gambhir who showed a big heart and approached his former Delhi teammate to bury the hatchet.

“I saw a good thing about Gautam,” Mishra shared. “Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him; Gautam went towards him. He went and asked, ‘How are you? How’s your family?’ So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli.” This revelation casts Gambhir in a new light, portraying him as the mature and bigger person in this scenario. Mishra’s account emphasizes Gambhir’s role in promoting peace and camaraderie, which is often overshadowed by the intense competitive spirit seen on the field.

    Virat Kohli: A Changed Man?

In the same conversation, Mishra also touched upon how fame and success have influenced Virat Kohli. He contrasted Kohli’s current persona with the down-to-earth nature of Rohit Sharma, another Indian cricketing stalwart.

“I won’t lie. As a cricketer, I respect him a lot, but I don’t share the same equation with him as I used to,” Mishra noted. “When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I have known Cheeku (Kohli) since he was 14… But there is a huge difference in the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli, the “captain.”

Mishra’s comments highlight a common narrative in the world of sports, where athletes often undergo significant personal transformations as they rise to stardom. Kohli, who recently announced his retirement from T20I cricket after India’s victorious campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024, remains a respected figure but one whose relationships have evolved over time.

    The Aftermath: A New Beginning?

The IPL 2024 season witnessed a transformed dynamic between Gambhir and Kohli. The two were seen interacting cordially during practice sessions and even sharing warm gestures before matches. This newfound camaraderie between the two former adversaries was a heartening sight for fans and a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship.

Mishra’s revelations not only shed light on the resolution of the IPL 2023 feud but also offer a glimpse into the personal lives and evolving relationships of two of India’s cricketing icons. As the cricketing world moves forward, the story of Gambhir’s peace-making gesture serves as a reminder of the importance of humility and respect, both on and off the field.

    Gambhir’s Midas Touch

Much of KKR’s success can be attributed to the tactical genius of mentor Gautam Gambhir. The former Indian opener, who led KKR to their previous two IPL triumphs, has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the team’s ethos. His calm demeanor and astute decision-making proved invaluable throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-deserved victory.

    Rinku Singh: The Unlikely Hero

While star performers like Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana played their part, it was the unheralded Rinku Singh who truly stole the show. With KKR teetering at 89/5 in their pursuit of 174, the left-hander displayed nerves of steel, smashing an unbeaten 42 off just 28 deliveries to guide his team home.

    Cummins’ Valiant Effort in Vain

For SRH, Pat Cummins led from the front, both with the ball and the bat. The Australian spearhead claimed three crucial wickets before contributing a blistering 33 off just 18 balls. However, his efforts ultimately fell short as KKR held their nerve in the closing stages.

    Shah Rukh’s Unbridled Passion

As the winning runs were scored, the celebrations reached a crescendo, with Shah Rukh Khan leading the charge. The Bollywood superstar, known for his unwavering passion for the sport, was seen embracing Gambhir and the players, his joy evident for all to see. The victory not only cemented KKR’s status as one of the most successful IPL franchises but also underscored Shah Rukh’s deep commitment to the team.

    Tactical Masterclass from Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir’s influence on KKR’s fortunes cannot be overstated. From his shrewd team selections to his calculated bowling changes, the former India opener displayed a tactical acumen that kept his side ahead of the game. His ability to inspire and motivate his players was equally vital, as evidenced by the team’s resilience in the face of adversity.

Star batter Virat Kohli’s skillful unbeaten fifty formed the foundation of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s competitive 182 for six against Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL match on Friday. Kohli (83, 59b, 4×4, 4×6) and Cameron Green (33 off 21b) milked 65 runs off 42 balls for the second wicket, the primary alliance in RCB innings, as the home side produced a two-faced effort after being asked to. bat first on a track that was on the slower side. Another interesting thing which happened was Kohli and Gautam Gambhir hugging it out during the time-out which set the internet buzzing.

Coming back to the match, an archetypal Dinesh Karthik cameo (20, 8b, 3×6) added gravitas to the RCB total as usual towards the end. Skipper Faf du Plessis went back early as the Royal Challengers captain’s attempt to scoop pacer Harshit Rana ended in the hands of Mitchell Starc inside the circle.

But a period of stability followed as Kohli and Green kept RCB on the track with a busy stand that saw them reaching 61 for 1 in the Power Play segment. Kohli dished out drives and lofts over covers, a new addition to his batting, sweeps and slog-sweep to fetch his runs, but the shot of the night was a swat-flick off Starc that sailed for a six.

In fact, no other shot really encapsulates Kohli’s batting like the swat-flick – a child of his desire to find newer ways to sustain the dominance of bowlers. A simple snap of wrists and power emanating from a strong bottom hand can turn this traditionally gentle shot into a malevolent run-making option. Kohli brought his fifty in 36 balls whereas other batsmen, except Green, generally struggled for momentum and timing.

But at the other end, Green wasn’t really bothered about such technical angles, as his batting was all about brute power. Sunil Narine, who was playing his 500th T20 match, was given a hammering as Green took 15 runs off the spinner’s first over that included a sequence of 4, 4, 6 – a sweep, slap past cover and a hoick over long-on.

However, the burgeoning alliance was snapped when Green’s effort to play a pull off Andre Russell was the ball crashing on to his stumps as the ball kept a tad low. Glenn Maxwell, who was dropped twice on 11 and 21, en route to a 19-ball 28 could not exploit the largesse of KKR fielders as his luck finally ran out against Narine. A slash off the West Indian spinner ended in the hands of Rinku Singh at deep point, and Maxwell had to depart after adding 42 runs for the third wicket with Kohli.

Rajat Patidar (3, 4b) seemed to be suffering from lack of confidence after his travails in the Test series against England, and the right-hander produced another vastly underwhelming knock. But at one end, Kohli kept going even as the KKR bowlers adopted the pace-off strategy with excellent effect to slow down the proceedings.

Kolkata Knight Riders crushed Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets in their Indian Premier League match. KKR started off on a rousing note as the opening duo of Philip Salt (30 off 20 balls) and Sunil Narine (47 off 22 balls) added 86 runs in just 6.3 overs.

Later, Venkatesh Iyer (50 off 30 balls) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (39 off 24 balls) helped KKR complete the task with 19 balls remaining for the side’s second win in three games. (With PTI inputs)

Coming to the match between RCB and KKR, there are many big names ready to shine in the clash tonight. One of them is Andre Russell who performed brilliantly in the season’s opener of KKR.

Andre Russell gave an early storm warning to opponents, plundering a 25-ball 64 for Kolkata KnightRiders against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening IPL game and the veteran batsman attributed the bright beginning to a changed mindset. In contrast, Russell was a pale shadow of his intimidating self in IPL 2023, managing just 227 runs from 14 matches and snaffling just seven wickets.

“My mindset wasn’t right (in 2023). I was thinking about failure more than thinking about going out and doing what I do best. When you have a mindset that I don’t want to get out, I think that’s a negative. mindset for me,” Russell said on the eve of the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

“I think I’ve been allowing myself to be under pressure, because I’ve been thinking too much. It’s all about the mindset, as I said, and now more clear in my approach to every delivery,” added Russell.

But the Jamaican all-rounder said he has been working on his batting technique as well over the last year to make a bigger impact.

“I’ve made a few changes. I was at the nets in Abu Dhabi and Sunil (Narine) was watching my technique. We realized I was doing too much, as I was stepping out and I needed to work on my stride towards the delivery. When I look at most batters who are big hitters, they don’t really have a big stretch against the deliveries that are going away. So, that’s just one little tweak that I’ve done,” said Russell.

Detailing the changes further, the 35-year-old said: “Now, I’m just trying to move as late as possible, and you know, I wouldn’t speed so much and I try to depend on that, and just use eye-hand coordination,” he added.
