Bumrah took the wicket in the third over
Starting the third over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a good length delivery on the off stump. Mitchell Marsh tried to defend, but his left bat hit a thick inside edge. After this, Bumrah bowled a short length delivery with extra bounce. The outer edge of Marsh’s bat hit the ball and the ball fell into the hands of Virat Kohli standing in the slips.
This record was registered in the name of Virat Kohli
Former Indian captain Kohli made a spectacular dive to catch the ball with two hands. This proved to be a big wicket, due to which the Indian fast bowlers got excited, due to which the spectators also got excited. With this catch, Kohli made the record of 15*, the most catches (by a non-wicketkeeper) for India in ODI World Cup history. He went ahead of Anil Kumble (14), Kapil Dev (12) and Sachin Tendulkar (12).
Australia decided to bat
Initially, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. Explaining his decision, Cummins said that it looks like a good wicket. With the sun out it looks like it’s a good afternoon for batting. Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that Ishan Kishan has been included in the team in place of Shubman Gill as the opener is ill.
Ishan Kishan got a chance in place of Shubman Gill
Talking about the conditions, Rohit said that the conditions are favorable for the bowlers. And as the game progresses the ball will turn, you need to understand which line and length to bowl. Adjustments will have to be made accordingly. We have played a lot of cricket before that. We played two good series before the practice games, we have overcome all the shortcomings.
Rohit Sharma is the oldest captain
Rohit Sharma has also made a record in his name as soon as he stepped on the field as captain for this match. He has become the oldest captain of India to captain in the World Cup. Rohit is currently 36 years and 161 days old. He has overtaken Mohammad Azharuddin (36 years and 124 days in 1999), Rahul Dravid (34 years and 71 days in 2007).
Sunday 8th October cricket world cup 2023 Before its opening match, the Indian cricket team is facing a big worry. India’s star batsman Shubman Gill is suspected to be suffering from dengue and his chances of playing in Sunday’s match against Australia are very slim. In case of Gill being out, Ishan Kishan can start the innings. Although KL Rahul Has also played the role of Team India’s opening batsman on many occasions. BCCI has not yet clarified anything about Gill’s illness. It has been said in BCCI’s medical update that his health is bad. The medical team is keeping a close eye on him. We are hoping that he will get better soon. We should wait for further updates from the medical team.
Rahul Dravid said this
India head coach Rahul Dravid provided more updates on the team’s swashbuckling opening batsman Shubman Gill. Dravid said during a press conference, ‘Today he is definitely feeling better. The medical team is monitoring on a daily basis. We have 36 hours and we will see what they decide.
Shubman Gill is suffering from high fever
Before their World Cup match, Dravid further said, ‘Gill is definitely feeling better today. The medical team has not yet taken him out. We will continue to monitor them every day. He will be monitored on a day-to-day basis and we will see how he feels the day after tomorrow. Gill, India’s most prolific batsman in ODIs in recent times, is reportedly suffering from high fever and was to be tested for dengue on Friday before a final decision on the matter is taken. However, it is not clear whether Gill is suffering from dengue.
BCCI did not confirm
News agency PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying that Shubman Gill has high fever after landing in Chennai. Their tests are being conducted. He will undergo tests on Friday and a decision will be taken on his participation in the opening game. The report also said that it has been learned that Gill is being tested again for dengue and if it is confirmed, he may miss some matches.
Gill may miss the opening match
It usually takes 7-10 days for any player to recover from dengue and become fit for the match. If there is a significant drop in platelet count, it may take longer. If Gill suffers from dengue, he will miss not only the matches against Australia but also against Afghanistan (October 11) and Pakistan (October 14). This will be a big blow for Team India.
Gill is in great form
The team management believes that it is too early to make any kind of speculation regarding Gill. If it is a normal fever then Gill will be fit to play in two days. For this reason the medical team is continuously monitoring him. If Gill is not in a position to play, he may be rested from the match against Australia. Gill has scored 1,200 runs this season. If he remains absent for a long time then it can be a big blow for the Indian team.

ICC cricket on Monday world cup 2023 Two warm-up matches were played. In one match, New Zealand defeated South Africa by seven runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. In another match, defending champion England defeated Bangladesh. to new zealand devon conway And Tom Latham scored half-centuries. After registering victory against Pakistan in the first practice match, New Zealand also defeated South Africa. New Zealand, batting first, scored a strong score of 321 runs for six wickets in 50 overs with half-centuries from Conway (78) and Latham (52). Conway faced 73 balls and hit 11 fours and a six before being retired hurt. Latham’s 56-ball innings included four fours and one six.
South Africa lost by seven runs
Glenn Phillips (43) and captain Kane Williamson (37) also played useful innings. South Africa tried nine bowlers but only Lungi Ngidi (three wickets for 33 runs) and Marco Jensen (three wickets for 45 runs) could take wickets. There was interruption of rain during South Africa’s innings. When the team had scored 211 runs for four wickets in 37 overs, the game was stopped for the second time due to rain, which could not be restarted and New Zealand was declared the winner under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
De Kock scored unbeaten 84 runs
For South Africa, opener Quinton de Kock scored unbeaten 84 runs in 89 balls with 12 fours and one six. Ressie Van de Dussen played an inning of 51 runs. For New Zealand, Trent Boult took two wickets while Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi took one wicket each. The New Zealand team will now face defending champions England in the opening match of the World Cup on October 5.
England beat Bangladesh by four wickets
With the help of Moeen Ali’s stormy half-century in Guwahati, England defeated Bangladesh by four wickets with 77 balls remaining in the World Cup warm-up match on Monday. When Bangladesh had scored 188 runs for 9 wickets in 37 overs with the help of Mehdi Hasan Miraz’s 74 runs, the game had to be stopped due to rain. When the game started, England got the target of scoring 197 runs in 37 overs on the basis of Duckworth-Lewis method, which they achieved by losing six wickets in 24.1 overs.
Moeen Ali scored a half century
Moeen Ali scored 54 runs in 39 balls with the help of two fours and six sixes. Apart from him, opener Jonny Bairstow contributed 34 runs and captain Jos Buttler contributed 30 runs. However, Bangladesh dismissed six of England’s batsmen while defending this small score. England was to play its first practice match against India, but that match was canceled due to rain.
India and Netherlands match on Tuesday
India will play its second practice match against Netherlands on Tuesday. India’s star batsman Virat Kohli did not participate in the optional practice session on Monday due to personal reasons, but he can take part in the team’s second practice match against Netherlands to be held here on Tuesday. Kohli had moved from Guwahati to Mumbai on September 30 due to personal reasons. Because of this he was not available for the practice session.
Rohit Sharma did not practice
Captain Rohit Sharma, batsman Shreyas Iyer and fast bowler Mohammed Shami also did not participate in the practice session. Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja participated in the practice session. The practice match against Netherlands will be the last chance for India to test its preparation before the start of the tournament. The tournament will start from October 5 while India will play its first match against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. The practice match will also be Suryakumar’s last chance to strengthen his claim for a place in the final eleven.
ICC world cup 2023 Before Saturday, Team India will face defending champion England in the first practice match in Guwahati. In this match, Indian bowlers will be able to assess their depth, because England’s batting lineup is very strong at the moment. Practice games do not have official status. Both teams can use as many players as they want and see how certain players react in specific match situations. However, no team would want to expose all its players or strategies by putting in full force during these games. Therefore, it would be premature to assess the ability of any team from the practice match. after England Rohit Sharma The team has to play the second practice match against Netherlands on October 3.
England’s batting lineup is very strong
Talking about the current World Cup champion England, this team has made huge changes in all formats in the last few years. The team has adopted an aggressive batting style, which has also been seen in Test cricket. The batting line-up of Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali can trouble any bowler. In such a situation, Indian bowlers can test themselves better.
The onus will be on the spinners
The entire responsibility will be on the spinners in the middle overs. It will be interesting to see how far Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are able to make a dent in England’s strong batting order. It also remains to be seen whether top players like captain Jos Buttler or the charismatic Ben Stokes will try their hardest to not give the Indian bowlers a chance to dominate them. The best thing about the England team is its batting depth.
Great performance by bowlers in Asia Cup
The arrival of Sam Curran at number eight and Chris Woakes, who led the victory against India by scoring a Test century at Lord’s at number nine, certainly tells a lot about the balance of the team. However, be it the Asia Cup or the recently concluded ODI series against Australia. Indian bowlers have performed amazingly. It was no small feat to all out Sri Lanka at the score of 50 in the Asia Cup final in its own home.
Ishan Kishan vs Shreyas Iyer
After the injury of Akshar Patel, the need for a left-handed batsman will be felt in the team. In such a situation, Ishan Kishan can be given preference over Shreyas Iyer. There is no doubt that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will be the opening pair. In such a situation, Kishan can come to the crease as a left-handed batsman in the middle order. In the presence of Virat Kohli, this will affect Iyer, because another left-handed batsman Ravindra Jadeja will be present in the team in the lower order.
Senior players can be given rest
An equation is also being formed that India can give rest to its senior players in the warm-up match. But in a team of 15 players only four players can rest. Even before this, India has fielded playing eleven with two wicket-keeper batsmen, KL Rahul and Kishan. However, head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma would like to face England with the original team, which will be seen on the field in most of the World Cup matches. Iyer needs more opportunities, which he can get in two practice matches.
Jos Buttler (captain), Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes.
Cricket Australia at the last moment world cup 2023 There has been a big change in the team. marnus labuschagne Has been included in Australia’s World Cup squad, while spinner Ashton Agar was ruled out of the team on Thursday due to a calf injury. Labuschagne has been included in the squad as one change to the final 15-man group announced by Australia earlier this month. Travis Head has retained his place despite being ruled out of the start of the tournament after breaking his hand. Five-time champion Australia will play the World Cup with only one specialist spinner in the form of Adam Zampa. Fellow leg spinner Tanvir Sangha will remain with the team at least till the end of the practice matches along with all-rounder Matt Short.
Labuschagne’s better performance against India
Ashton Agar played his only recent ODI for his country against South Africa in Bloemfontein earlier this month. But the 29-year-old has failed to shake off his calf problem and has failed to cement his place in Australia’s 15-man squad for the World Cup. Now experienced batsman Marnus Labuschagne has taken his place.
The deadline for changes was 28th September
Labuschagne was originally left out of Australia’s preliminary squad for this marquee tournament. But recent good form in 50-over cricket against South Africa and India has earned the right-handed player a late place in the team. Australia finalized its team on Thursday. All the countries taking part in the World Cup had to submit their final team list to the ICC before 28 September. Changes in teams after that date are possible only with the permission of the tournament organizers.
Travis Head is also injured
The Australian team decided to stick with Travis Head. Despite this, the left-handed batsman is unlikely to be available for the initial part of the tournament due to a fracture in his hand. Head was injured against South Africa earlier this month and Labuschagne’s recent good form has paved the way for the right-hander to come into the team.
Chief selector said this
Chief selector George Bailey said there had been one change to the original preliminary squad of 15 players announced a month earlier, with Marnus replacing Ashton. It was a difficult decision but unfortunately we could not take both Travis and Ashton to the tournament due to injuries. We have decided to keep Travis in the team with the aim of keeping him available in the middle part of the tournament.
