Nitin Namdev, Raipur. People’s anger has erupted against the illegal business of ganja that has been going on for years in the Purani Basti area of the capital Raipur. Hundreds of local residents, troubled by the increasing incidents of robbery and assault in the area, surrounded the Purani Basti police station late at night. During this, they raised slogans against the police administration and alleged that the police is protecting these illegal activities.
Residents of the locality say that due to the inaction of the police, the morale of the criminals has increased, due to which the peace here is being disturbed every day. Recently, the incident of assault and robbery on a young businessman further fuelled this anger. The attackers not only vandalised the businessman’s car, but also broke the bone of his arm.
Local people have demanded from the administration that this matter should be investigated seriously and strict action should be taken against the culprits, so that peace and security can be restored in the area.
