  • Effect of Chief Minister Sai’s instructions: Rapid action against drug dealers, Durg and Mahasamund police seized ganja worth Rs 50 lakh

    Mahasamund/Durg. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh Police has busted inter-state ganja smuggling. Durg Police has arrested 5 accused with 45 kg ganja. Mahasamund Police has arrested two inter-state smugglers with ganja worth Rs 45 lakh. While conducting financial investigation of ganja smuggling, the bank accounts of the accused are being put on hold. This action has been taken with the help of national agency Narcotics Control Bureau and state level special team. The team is investigating the matter.

    In Mahasamund, two smugglers have been caught with 3 quintals of ganja from a truck, which is worth Rs 45 lakh. To dodge the police, the smugglers were carrying ganja hidden under rice sacks. Based on the information of the informer, the cyber cell and Komakhan police took joint action.

    Ganja was hidden under the sacks of rice

    Information was received from an informer that 02 persons were going to take ganja from Odisha to Bihar via Mahasamund by keeping it in a catechu coloured truck. On the above information, the police team was checking suspicious vehicles by deploying force at all the points entering Mahasamund district, when 01 Eicher truck number MH 40 CT 3815 was coming towards Mahasamund from Khariyar Road Odisha. It was stopped by cordoning it off near NH 353 Road Temrinaka, Komakhan. 02 persons were found in the vehicle, on asking their name and address, they said that they were Anil Kumar father Ramkumar Singh, age Bahadurpur Bihar and Siddhan Kumar alias Mistri Yadav father Dinesh Yadav, Sikriyan, district Bhojpur Bihar. On searching the vehicle, a total of 300 kg ganja was found in 150 packets inside 10 plastic bags between sacks of Kanki rice. The ganja was seized and the accused were sent to jail. On interrogation, the accused said that they had brought the ganja from Odisha and were taking it to Bihar and Maharashtra to sell it.

    Under the direction of Durg IG Ram Gopal Garg, Durg SP Jitendra Shukla has taken action against ganja smuggling. On September 5, at 14.20, information was received from an informer that Pintu Kumar Sahni has brought ganja from Odisha to earn illegal money and has kept it in Khursipar. Pintu is short in height and is wearing a blue lower and brown t-shirt and is guarding the ganja. G. Sarojini is also with him. Based on this information, the police raided Balaji Nagar Khursipar near Ganesh temple and caught two people with ganja.

    Two cars and bikes seized along with ganja in Durg

    During interrogation, the accused revealed their names as G. Sarojini and Pintu Kumar Sahni. 8 kg 525 grams and 9 kg 80 grams, 8 kg 530 grams and 6 kg 010 grams of ganja were recovered from G. Sarojini’s house from paper packets and 3 mobile phones and 5 kg 830 grams of ganja kept in a plastic bag and a bike were seized from Pintu Kumar Sahni. During interrogation, Pintu Kumar Sahni told that he buys ganja from someone in Odisha. He pays Rs 6 lakh for one trip. Abby Sahni and Ajay Sahni used to drive from Odisha in car number CG 04 KP 4604 by changing various number plates. In this operation, a total of 45.145 kg ganja, two cars and a bike were seized, the total cost of which is Rs 17.5 lakh. The accused are being arrested and presented in the court. Let us tell you that for the first time in Durg district, the accused were arrested by establishing the “forward link” and “backward link” of ganja. NDPS cases have been registered against the accused in the past as well. One case is registered against Pintu Sahni and two cases are registered against G. Sarojini.

    The tanker driver, while driving fast and recklessly, hit the motorcycle of the children’s maternal uncle Kewal Sahu, due to which the girl Durgeshwari Sahu’s maternal uncle, mother and brother fell away, while the girl Durgeshwari Sahu got seriously injured after being hit by the tanker.

    The Padmanabhpur police reached the spot and was taking the girl to the hospital for treatment, but she died on the way. After the incident, the accused tanker driver fled leaving the tanker behind. The tanker belongs to Siddharth Construction Company, Durg. The police have registered a case and started investigation.

    Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has extended the date for filling the examination form for self-study students appearing in High School and Higher Secondary Board Examination. Self-study students can fill the form from 9th September to 25th September with special late fee.
