  • Politics Around COVID-19 Thickens, Priyanka Gandhi Takes A Sour Jibe At PM Modi For ‘Heart Attacks’ Causing ‘Vaccines’ |

Davanagere: Top Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, criticized the central government on Saturday over the COVID vaccine. Taking a major dig at PM Modi, Priyanka claimed that many healthy children are suffering from heart attacks due to vaccines.

“Do you remember whose photo was on the vaccine certificate? Is there was Modi ji photo or not? Recently a report has come that people who took the vaccine can suffer from Heart attacks. Healthy youngsters are getting heart attacks, they are not ill, it happened because of the vaccine. All these vaccines were made by one company, which gave Modi ji Rs 52 crore donation,” she said. She further said that the BJP-led central government is ‘corrupt’.

“The truth is that whether it is through vaccines, getting donations by raiding someone, or booking a case against someone and later withdrawing it, there are several such examples. The truth is that this government is corrupt. They have strong connections with billionaires. They took donations from those who made the COVID vaccine,” she said.

Vadra went on to say that the BJP introduced the “electoral bond scheme,” which allowed them to accept donations from anybody.

“They did not increase job opportunities, inflation is at an all-time high, and getting a sick family member treated is a problem. Had Congress guarantees not been implemented in the state, your life would have been as difficult as the rest of the country. To deeply understand the Central Government, you must understand where their focus lies,” she said.

Praising Karnataka, she said, “Karnataka gave many great men to the country and also showed the way to the country. Karnataka has had a very deep relationship with my family. You supported my grandmother Indira Gandhi when she was in trouble. Indira ji had said a day before her martyrdom that when she is no more, every drop of her blood will be for the country,” she said.

Earlier, a recent admission by AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical company, that its Covid vaccine Covishield and Vaxzevria “can, in very rare cases, cause TTS.”

    Controversy Around AstraZeneca’s Covishield

Numerous UK media reports state that AstraZeneca made the statement in court filings related to a lawsuit claiming that the vaccine—which was created in collaboration with the University of Oxford—caused fatalities and significant injuries in numerous cases.

The COVID-19 vaccine Covishield was developed by the Serum Institute of India without utilizing the mRNA platform. The viral vector platform has been used in its preparation. A chimpanzee adenovirus known as ChAdOx1 has been altered in the vaccination to allow it to introduce the COVID-19 spike protein into human cells. This cold virus can train the immune system to build a defense against similar viruses, but it is essentially incapable of infecting the recipient.

Mandaviya said, “If someone has a stroke today, they think it is because of the Covid vaccine. ICMR has done a detailed study that the (Covid) vaccine is not responsible for heart attacks.”

    Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections

Karnataka is hosting two phases of elections for its 28 Lok Sabha seats. Elections for the remaining 14 seats will take place on May 7 after the voting for 14 seats ended on April 26. On June 4, the votes will be counted.
With 25 of the 28 seats that the BJP won in 2019, the Congress and JD-S, who were leading a coalition government in the state, were only able to win one seat apiece.

This time, the BJP and JD-S are running together for 25 seats, with the former vying for 25 seats and the latter for three.

  • Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manjhi Competes With RJD’s Kumar Sarvjeet in Bihar’s Gaya |

New Delhi: The nation is all set to cast votes in the first phase of elections on April 19. Bihar is all set to conduct polls in four constituencies, including Gaya. These elections will decide the fate of 38 candidates who are fighting for parliamentary seats in the region. It’s interesting that Gaya boasts of the highest number of candidates, with 14 individuals contending in the elections.

    Lok Sabha Elections 2019

During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, all four seats were secured by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The BJP emerged victorious in Aurangabad, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) won in Gaya, and the then-united Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in both Jamui and Nawada. Bihar holds significant importance in Indian politics with its 40 Lok Sabha seats. The state ranks as the fourth-highest state overall in terms of Lok Sabha representation.

    Jitan Ram Manjhi (HAM)

The BJP has opted to leave the Gaya (reserved) seat for its ally, the Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S). Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) patron and former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi competes with former minister and RJD candidate Kumar Sarvjeet from Gaya Lok Sabha constituency.

    Kumar Sarvjeet (RJD)

Giving fierce competition to Manjhi is Kumar Sarvajeet of the RJD. Kumar is a former minister and current MLA representing the Bodh Gaya constituency. His father served as the Gaya MP in the 1990s.

    Gaya Lok Sabha Seat

For the past 25 years, Gaya has been reserved for scheduled caste candidates. Political parties primarily target votes from EBCs, OBCs, and Upper castes in Gaya. Victories in 2009 and 2014 went to the BJP, and in 2019 to the Janata Dal (United). Although, since 1999, a member of the Manjhi community has consistently represented the seat.

  • PM Modi Pitches For BJP In South Ahead Of LS Polls, Blasts Opposition’s ‘Hypocrisy’ |

New Delhi: Ahead of the national elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday appealed to the voters of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the states where the BJP has been weak, to choose his party over the dominant parties there, and attacked the CPI (M) and the Congress, saying they are foes in Kerala but are BFFs (best friends forever) in other places. Modi held consecutive events in the two southern states that have always snubbed the BJP, and claimed his party was unmatched in serving the people of the two states.

The PM has visited the states several times in the past few months, mixing official work with temple trips and roadshows that coincide with the BJP’s efforts to garner support as it is not part of any major alliance in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. His remarks in Kerala that the BJP never used any state as a vote bank and that Tamil Nadu got more central funds in the last decade under his party’s rule are seen as responses to the two states’ allegation that they were deprived of funds.

The Congress, the DMK and their allies currently hold a total of 59 national seats in these states. BJP has no seat. While Modi lambasted the local opponents CPI (M) and Congress for their inconsistency in Kerala, in neighbouring Tamil Nadu, he focused on issues related to Tamil pride, which is closely linked with the state politics.

Addressing the concluding ceremony of BJP state chief K Surendran’s march at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Modi criticized the opposition, saying it had no vision for the country’s development. The opposition parties are sure that they will not win the upcoming national elections and that is why their “leaders abuse me,” the Prime Minister said. He made similar comments in TN where he said the huge opposition bloc INDIA has already “accepted defeat” but was eager to plunder the country and the state.

“The Congress and the Communists are each other’s adversaries in Kerala, but in other states, they are BFFs. BFFs means best friends forever,” the PM said. He said the Congress charged the Communist Chief Minister (Pinarayi Vijayan) of being involved in corruption and scams and called the Left government as fascist.

“The Communists in return, beat up the Congress workers and called their previous governments as being involved in various scams. However, outside Kerala, at the INDI alliance meetings, they sit together, eat samosas and biscuits, and have tea,” the PM said.

“So in Thiruvananthapuram, they say one thing and in Delhi, they say something else. The people of Kerala will respond to this treachery in the coming national elections.”

The BJP never views a state from the angle of a vote bank, Modi said and added that over the past 10 years, Kerala has enjoyed development like other BJP-ruled states. He said he assured that his government would make all possible efforts to help the people of Kerala achieve their dreams and aspirations.

‘Modiyude guarantee’ (Modi’s guarantee) is to make India the third-largest economy in the world as well as eliminate poverty and corruption from the country. “Even when the BJP was not strong in Kerala, we worked to empower Kerala. Over the past 10 years, the benefits of development have been enjoyed by Kerala as much as by the BJP-ruled states,” the Prime Minister said.

In Tamil Nadu, Modi was very critical of the ruling DMK. However, he was lavish in his praise for the AIADMK icons –late Chief Ministers M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. AIADMK, which contested the 2019 national polls and the 2021 state polls as a BJP ally, had announced breaking ties with its saffron party in September 2023.

Modi’s extensive praise for the two leaders, especially for MGR who has a cult status, came at Palladam. The town is part of the western region regarded as the AIADMK’s stronghold.

  • ‘Even Foreign Countries Know Aayega To Modi Hi’: 10 Key Points From PM Modi’s BJP National Convention Speech |

New Delhi: Addressig the Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) Convention on Thursday at the Bharat Madapam,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his confidence in the party’s return to the poewer in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. PM Modi also heavily critisied the opposition party and said that the Congress has no vision for the development of the country.

“Today every country in the world is emphasizing on building deeper relations with India. Despite pending elections, I’ve received invitations from various countries extending into July, August, and September. This suggests widespread confidence in the potential return of a BJP government,” said PM Modi. “
Discussing the Indian economy’s growth during the BJP’s tenure over the past decade, the Prime Minister highlighted, “It took India 60 years to reach a 1 trillion dollar economy milestone. In our 10 years, we have accelerated this progress to achieve a 3 trillion dollar economy.”

“The previous government failed to elevate India from the 11th to the 10th largest global economy. In contrast, the BJP has elevated India to the top 5,” he added.
In a strong rebuke to opposition parties, the Prime Minister said that the parties may not know how to fulfill their promises but they don’t hesitate to make false commitments.

Congress Lacks Agenda For Development: PM Modi

PM Modi also targeted the Congress, stating that the grand old party has resorted to desperate measures, with hurling abuses and false allegations against him becoming their sole agenda. “Congress has become so desperate that it does not even have the courage for principled and ideological opposition. Therefore, abuses and false allegations against Modi have become their only agenda,” said PM.

Commending the unwavering dedication of BJP workers to the party, PM Modi underscored the significance of the upcoming 100 days leading to the Lok Sabha Elections. He urged them to approach this period with renewed energy, zeal, enthusiasm, and faith.
