  • Loharidih case: Hearing in Shiv Prasad Sahu death case in High Court, court gave this exemption to the petitioner.

Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. A petition has been filed in the Chhattisgarh High Court regarding the Loharidih suspicious death case. The petition of the daughter of deceased Shiv Prasad Sahu has been heard in the High Court. The Division Bench of the Chief Justice has given permission to the petitioner to file the case in the jurisdiction of Madhya Pradesh. The petitioner had filed the petition demanding post-mortem.

Let us tell you that the dead body was found hanging under suspicious circumstances. Advocate Sandeep Dubey, appearing for the petitioner in the case, said that on September 15, the body of Shivprasad Sahu was found hanging under suspicious circumstances on a tree in village Birsa in Madhya Pradesh. After this, MP Police conducted a short post-mortem and handed over the body to Chhattisgarh Police. After this, the police hurriedly buried the body in the presence of only a 9-year-old child without informing the elder members of the deceased’s family.

The relatives of the deceased suspect that Raghunath Sahu and his family members had murdered Shivprasad. Because while Shivprasad was going to Madhya Pradesh, Janak Sahu, who is a member of Raghunath’s family, is missing. Therefore, a detailed post-mortem should be conducted in the case and action should be taken after investigation.

In this case, the government told the court that because this incident happened under Madhya Pradesh border and the police there is investigating the matter. Therefore Chhattisgarh Police cannot investigate the matter. After this, the Division Bench of the Chief Justice gave permission to the daughter of the deceased to file a petition in the MP court.

The body of the deceased is currently buried in Loharidih. The court said that when Madhya Pradesh Police comes to Chhattisgarh, the state police will cooperate in the investigation. Senior advocate Vivek Tankha argued the case on behalf of the deceased.

The BJP-ruled states are increasingly tightening norms around the functioning of Madarsas. The Madhya Pradesh government ordered the closure of 56 Madarsas after it found they had been made to con the government of funds. The state government has now launched a probe after the Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board issued an order to cancel the affiliation of 56 madrasas in the Sheopur district.

As per reports, these madarsas were not functioning but have been receiving financial aid from the government. There were more than 80 madrasas running in the district out of which 53-54 schools were closed for several months. The government first stopped providing financial aid to these institutions seven months ago and now ordered the closure of these institutions officially.

This led to the state-wide probe to ascertain the functioning of the madarsas. “All government-private educational institutions and madrasas operating in Madhya Pradesh are being investigated. We are investigating and observing every point to find out where there have been violations of the rules. If there has been an irregularity, we will also take action, and if necessary, we will also take action,” said School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh.

  • After UP, Ujjain Shop Owners Told To Display Names, Contact Numbers; Rs 2,000 Fine For Violation |

BHOPAL: The BJP-ruled Ujjain Municipal Corporation has directed shop owners to display their names and mobile numbers outside their establishments in the ancient city, a directive coming on the heels of a similar order by the BJP government in UP for eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route. Violators will have to pay a Rs 2,000 fine for the first offence and Rs 5,000 if they defy this order for the second time, Ujjain Mayor Mukesh Tatwal said on Saturday. This order is aimed at ensuring safety and transparency and not intended to target Muslim shop-keepers, the mayor said.

Ujjain, the hometown of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, is known for its sacred Mahakal temple, attracting devotees from around the globe, especially during the Savaan month, which starts on Monday. Tatwal said the Mayor-in-Council of Ujjain had approved a proposal for shopkeepers to display their names on September 26, 2002, followed by the Corporation House, and subsequently sent it to the state government for objections and formalities.

“All formalities have been already completed. The implementation was delayed as the nameplates were initially required to be of the same size and colour. Now, we have relaxed these terms. Displaying the names and mobile numbers of shopkeepers will suffice,” he told PTI over the phone. He stressed that the measure is rooted in the MP Shop Establishment Act or Gumasta License, and it serves to enhance customer safety.

“Ujjain is a religious and holy city. People come here with religious aastha (faith). They have the right to know about the shopkeeper whose services they are availing. If a customer is dissatisfied or cheated, knowing the shopkeeper’s details allows them to seek redress,” the mayor said.

Ujjain is set to host the Simhastha (Kumbh) Mela in 2028, a significant religious fair held every 12 years. This action mirrors the recent directive in Uttar Pradesh, where all eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route were asked to display owners’ names. The Uttar Pradesh government extended this order statewide on Friday, while Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said similar instructions are already in place his state. The order has faced criticism from opposition parties and some members of the ruling alliance, who argue it targets Muslim traders.

  • Madhya Pradesh Woman, Who Accused Local BJP Leader Of Sexual Assault, Dies Under Mysterious Circumstance; Congress Slams Saffron Party |

SAGAR: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday demanded the removal of the collector and superintendent of police of Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district after the sister of a slain Dalit youth died under mysterious circumstances. Terming the incident heart-rending, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on X that BJP leaders are after the Constitution because they don’t want women, Dalits, ST and backwards to live with dignity in the country.

“And they won’t get an opportunity to be heard’ wherever atrocities on women are committed Narendra Modi (Prime Minister) and his government saved the accused. If the sisters against whom atrocities are committed demanded justice, then their families are devastated. The women of the country won’t sit silent anymore,” she wrote.

Singh reached the Barodia Nonagir village to meet the family members of Anjana Ahirwar who died on Sunday after falling from an ambulance carrying her uncle’s body. The administration promised to give Anjana a government job, did they give her one? They made some other promises too like demolishing houses (of the accused), did they demolish? …I am not in favour of bulldozing someone’s house, but you demolish many persons’ houses in the name of action, he said.

Singh spoke to Anjana’s family sitting next to her body and later took part in her funeral. Anjana’s uncle Rajendra Ahirwar was beaten to death on May 25 by some persons over an old enmity, police sources said. Anjana had alleged that her brother Nitin Ahirwar, alias Lalu, was killed in August last year by some people who used to harass her.

Anjana died on Sunday after she fell from an ambulance carrying her uncle’s body in Sagar. Singh demanded the removal of the entire district administration, including the collector and superintendent of police (SP), over the incident. The woman’s family members told Singh that the security provided to them was removed by the administration and even cameras installed in their area were taken away.

Anjana was an educated woman and was taking care of the family. She is no more today and I am very disappointed, Singh said. The Congress leader claimed police security was removed 10 days before the present incident. A lot of pressure was exerted on them to change their statements, he said.
There were three witnesses to the murder of Lalu..One Rajendra, another one was Anjana and third her mother.

Rajendra was killed because he did not come under pressure. And Anjana died, Singh said. Anjana had complained to the police a few days back about mounting pressure to change their statement but cops did not act on it, he alleged. Since the beginning, Anjana had maintained that one Ankit Thakur was involved in the incident, but he was not arrested as he is a muscleman and has been given shelter politically, Singh claimed.

Rajendra Ahirwar (24) died of injuries he had sustained in a clash between two groups under Khurai police station limits, Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sinha earlier told reporters. Anjana fell from the ambulance carrying the body of Rajendra Ahirwar to their village after the postmortem in Sagar. Their family members were accompanying the body, said Sinha. When asked if Rajendra Ahirwar was killed due to pressure for compromise in the old case, Sinha said all facts would come out during the investigation.

Nitin Ahirwar was allegedly beaten to death by a group of people over an old enmity in Sagar district last August. Following his death, Anjana Ahirwar lodged an FIR alleging her brother was murdered as some persons were pressuring her for a compromise in the harassment case.
