    Crude oil futures prices rise due to strong spot demand

    Crude oil prices rose by Rs 241 to Rs 7,116 per barrel in futures trade on Monday as traders increased the size of their deals following strong spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the contract of crude oil for delivery in October rose by Rs 241 or 3.51 percent to Rs 7,116 per barrel. It was traded for 10.131 lots. Market analysts said crude oil futures prices rose as traders increased the size of their deals. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 2.90 percent to $ 85.19 per barrel, while the price of Brent crude showed a rise of 2.68 percent. Was trading at $86.85 per barrel. Despite the rise in crude oil prices, petrol and diesel prices are unlikely to increase due to the general elections next year. This was said in a report by Moody’s Investors Service. Recently, the company had offered a huge discount of Rs 1.25 lakh on its electric SUV XUV400. Earlier this year the company launched XUV400. Its range on a single charge is a little more than 450 kilometers. This discount will be available till the end of September. The XUV400 competes with MG’s ZS EV and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV. This is the second time in two months that Mahindra is offering discounts on its only electric vehicle. This is a cash discount and does not include any other benefits. However, there is no discount on its variants with Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The XUV400 has two variants – EC and EL. The company may launch a new version of it soon.     French automobile maker Citroen has launched the new SUV C3 Aircross in India. Its price ranges from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been made available in five and seven seat variants. However, customers will have to pay extra for the seven seater variant. Bookings for the C3 Aircross have started from September 15. Its booking can be done through the company’s dealerships or online portal by paying Rs 25,000. Its delivery will start from October 15. It is the first SUV in the compact segment with three-row seating. It will compete with Hyundai’s Creta, Kia’s Seltos and Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara. It has been made available in three variants You, Plus and Max. For its seven seater Flexi Pro version, customers will have to pay an additional Rs 35,000. It has a 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine and six speed manual gearbox. It can generate maximum power of 108 bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm. The company claims that its mileage is 18.5 kmpl. The company can also introduce its automatic version. The width of the C3 Aircross is 1,796 mm, length is 4,323 mm and height is 1,669 mm. Its front is almost identical to the upgraded C5 Aircross. It will be available in four single and six dual tone colors. The company has kept its interior simple but it has a lot of space. It has a 10.23 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Citroen Connect. The C3 Aircross also has 35 smart connected features. However, it does not have sunroof or automatic climate control. Earlier this year, the company had introduced the eC3, the electric version of the C3 hatchback in the country. This was the company’s first electric vehicle (EV) in the country. It has a 29.2 kWh battery. The company had claimed its range to be 320 Km. It has a 10.2-inch infotainment system, four-speaker audio system and height adjustable driver seat. It can reach the speed of 0-60 kmph in just 6.8 seconds. The company has limited its top speed to 107 kmph.
