  • Ex-Agniveers To Get Reservation And Age Relaxation In BSF: Home Ministry |

    The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday announced a significant policy shift to absorb former Agniveers into its ranks. The Ministry of Home affairs notified that experience and training that Agniveers bring to the table after their 4 year tenure make them ideal candidates for force. The decision was announced by the Director General of BSF, highlighting a 10% reservation and age relaxation for ex-Agniveers. 

    The MAH, in a statement, emphasised that this move aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah.

    Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that Agniveers from the state who complete their service will be offered positions in various state departments, and provisions for their reservation will also be established.  

    The chief minister was addressing an event in Dehradun when he mentioned that following the introduction of the Agniveer scheme, he held a meeting with Army officers, veterans, soldiers, and other authorities concerned.

    Parliament Monsoon Session 2024: The Budget session of the parliament started on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to all parliamentarians to rise above party politics and come together to work for the future of the country. Ahead of the Budget session, PM Modi urged opposition parties engaged in “negative politics” to “get rid of past bitterness and come together.” Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi slammed the ruling government and said minister Dharmendra Pradhan has blamed everybody except himself.

    “I would like to request all parliamentarians to participate in all discussions in the House, no matter how ideologically opposed they are. Opposite ideologies are not bad, but negative ideologies are. That is when the limit of thoughts comes to an end. The country does not need negativity,” PM Modi said in Parliament. 

    Following the NEED UG scam, a Congress MP hits out the BJP government and said, “It is obvious to the whole country that there is a very serious problem in our examination system, not just in NEET but in all the major examinations. The minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) has blamed everybody except himself. I don’t even think he understands the fundamentals of what is going on here…”

    12:50 PM On the NEET UG issue, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that Minister Dharmendra Pradhan spoke about the Supreme Court and PM Modi but he is not able to say what is he doing on this. Gandhi further highlighted that NEET is a very important issue for the youth. 

     

  • ‘Prime Minister Should Speak Up…,’ Mehbooba Mufti Slams Modi Over Kanwar Yatra Order |

    The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered shopkeepers en route of the  Kavad Yatra to display their names on shop boards. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti questions PM Modi’s silence on the UP administration’s order regarding the Kavad Yatra, stating it is unconstitutional and an example of the fear that they have to change the constitution.

    Prime Minister should clarify whether he endorses this or not. Mufti said,  “It is clear that BJP wants to destroy the constitution which gives an individual every open right.”

    “They dropped from 350 to 240 seats in recent Lok Sabha polls but still not mending their ways. This serves as a warning to the voters, showing how they aim to dismantle the country’s constitution,” PDP Chief said.

    Mehbooba warned the people of the country and said, “They start with Muslims, then Dalits and eventually target other minorities as well. The Uttar Pradesh government’s order is unconstitutional.”

    “Prime Minister should speak up about how he is witnessing these situations in the country and clarify whether he endorses the order or not,” she said. 

    On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mandated that food and beverage shops along Kanwar routes should display the name and identity of the owner to maintain the sanctity of the pilgrim’s faith.

  • PM Modi Addresses Indian Diaspora In Russia, Says, ‘The World Is Surprised By…’ |

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Moscow on Monday. While speaking at the event organised by the Indian community in Russia, PM Modi said that the world is surprised to see the pace of development that the country has achieved in the last 10 years. He highlighted that Indian citizens were in distress before 2014, but things have changed now. He added that India is transforming at such a rate that the world is taking notes.

    Commending Russia for supporting India, he said, “On hearing the word Russia, the first word that comes to every Indian’s mind is India’s partner in happiness and sorrow, India’s trusted friend, we call it ‘Dosti’.”

    “Before 2014, India was in state of despair, but things are different as India is more confident,” PM said in his Moscow address. Drawing parallels with the condition of patients admitted in the hospital, Modi said that a patient shows signs of progress when he’s hopeful of his recovery. Similarily, India’s asset is its confidence.

    He highlighted India’s infrastructural prowess, stating that the country built the world’s tallest railway bridge and the world’s tallest statue. He said that now India achieves whatever target it sets. 

    Thanking the citizens overseas, the Prime Minister said, “India is changing, and how is India changing? It is changing because India trusts the support of its 140 crore citizens. It trusts the support of Indians spread across the  world.” He added that all the Indians sitting outside the country are ambassadors of the country. 

  • Russia To Release Indians From Army After PM Modi’s Intervention At Putin’s Dinner |

    New Delhi: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia had brought a major diplomatic achievement as Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to facilitate the return of all Indian nationals working in Russian Army. As per reports, PM raised this issue while having a ‘private dinner’ at Putin’s official residence in Moscow on Monday. 

    Notably, two Indians died in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, the MEA said. Following which New Delhi decided to raise the matter for the early release of all Indian nationals recruited in Russian Army.

    Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) was anticipated to address the issue of Indians enlisted in the Russia-Ukraine conflict following the deaths of two individuals, aiming to secure their release from the country. 

    PM Modi, who is in Moscow for a two-day visit, raised the issue at a private dinner hosted by Putin last evening, reported NDTV citing sources. President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened for an informal meeting on Monday at President Putin’s Novo-Ogaryovo residence near Moscow. 

    More than a dozen Indians were reportedly coerced into fighting in the war against Ukraine after being deceived by agents with promises of high-paying jobs. 

    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphatically raised the issue with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov prior to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit on July 4.

    Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has made a bold claim stating that the Narendra Modi-led government at the center could fall by August. Urging party members to be prepared for potential early elections, Yadav spoke at the RJD’s 28th foundation day celebration. 

    “I appeal to all party workers to be ready, as elections can happen anytime. Modi’s government in Delhi is very weak and it can fall by August,” Lalu Prasad Yadav was quoted as saying by ANI.

    Resonating on father’s words, Lalu’s son and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also suggested the possibility of early assembly elections in Bihar. He also emphasized the likelihood of a Mahagathbandhan (India alliance) government forming in Bihar, whether elections are held in December 2024 or 2025.

    The event was held at the RJD office in Patna. Aurangabad MP and RJD parliamentary party leader in the Lok Sabha, Abhay Kushwaha, ceremonially crowned Tejashwi Yadav with a silver crown. Addressing the gathering, Lalu Prasad Yadav stressed upon that party members should stay vigilant and prepared for any political developments.

    As the political landscape remains volatile, the RJD leadership’s statements highlight the potential for significant changes in the coming months, keeping party workers and political analysts on high alert.

  • Team India meets PM Narendra Modi in Delhi for breakfast to celebrate T20 World Cup title win | Cricket News

    The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, on Thursday. During the hour-long meeting, PM Modi congratulated the T20 World Cup-winning team. The team arrived at No. 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at 11 am IST, after receiving a rousing reception at ITC Maurya. Captain Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli were seen cutting a special cake prepared by the hotel chef. PM Modi encouraged the team to continue their winning streak, expressing confidence that the T20 World Cup victory in Barbados would motivate them in future tournaments.

    In a video, PM Modi and the Indian cricket team shared laughs while reminiscing about the World Cup campaign. Head coach Rahul Dravid spoke as the players sat with the Prime Minister.     After leaving the Prime Minister’s residence, the team headed back to the New Delhi airport to depart for Mumbai, where an open-top bus parade awaits them.

    The team wore customised India jerseys with ‘Champions’ written on them for the meeting with PM Modi. PM Modi hosted the players for a special breakfast, listening to their experiences from the World Cup campaign in the USA and the Caribbean. India defeated South Africa in the final on Saturday at the Kensington Oval in Barbados to win their second T20 World Cup crown.

    India’s T20 World Cup heroes received a rousing reception upon their return home on Thursday. The team, support staff, and around 20 media members arrived at the New Delhi airport on a special charter plane arranged by the BCCI. Secretary Jay Shah also traveled with the team on the Air India plane. The BCCI arranged the chartered plane to bring home the World Cup heroes stranded for three days in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl.

    Lieutenant Governor of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Ayush and Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav among others will join the program led by the Prime Minister.

    Over 7,000 people from various walks of life will gather with the Prime Minister on the banks of Dal Lake, Srinagar to mark this special occasion.

    Since 2015, the Prime Minister has led the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

    Yoga Day: Theme

    This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Self and Society’, emphasizes yoga’s vital role in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony.

    To maximize the inclusiveness of Yoga benefits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also written a letter to all the Gram Pradhans stating, “At the grassroots level, I urge you to make holistic health, a people-led movement by spreading more awareness about Yoga and millet.”

    This year’s celebrations will span across the Nation, with a notable event termed as “Yoga for Space”, wherein all the centres and units of ISRO will have programs on the practice of CYP or common Yoga Protocol. ISRO among other autonomous bodies will also participate in the CYP practice on June 21. Along with this active participation from the Gaganyaan project team is also scheduled for June 21. Observance of IDY at Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari is also in full swing.

    Globally, Embassies and Indian Missions abroad will join the celebrations, reflecting yoga’s widespread influence. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of Ayush, recently in a gathering highlighted the journey of IDY, emphasizing its role in promoting health, social values, and a sense of community.

    The ‘Whole of Government’ approach to IDY celebrations includes coordinated efforts across various government departments and active participation from state governments and union territories. The National Ayush Mission team is also organizing events nationwide, demonstrating yoga’s impact on holistic health.

    Mass Yoga Events 

    In Delhi, the Ministry of Ayush has partnered with NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Corporation), ASI (Archaeological Survey of India), and DDA (Delhi Development Authority) to organize mass yoga events.

    To engage the masses, the Ministry of Ayush has launched several contests and activities, including the “Yoga with Family” Video Contest in partnership with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) on the MyGov and MyBharat platforms. This contest encourages families worldwide to showcase the joy of yoga and reinforce family bonds, with submissions due by June 30, 2024
