  • ACB-EOW conducts major raid in disproportionate assets case, simultaneous raids at 17 locations in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand

    Shivam Mishra, Raipur. Anti Corruption Bureau/EOW has taken major action in the case of disproportionate assets in Chhattisgarh. Raids have been conducted at the locations of suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and State Administrative Service officer Saumya Chaurasia. According to information received from sources, more than 17 teams of EOW have raided different places in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. A big team of EOW is engaged in investigation on the case of disproportionate assets of all three accused. Investigation is being done at the locations of the accused whose assets are disproportionate to their income worth crores.

    According to highly placed sources of ACB, raids are being conducted in Bhilai, Raigarh, Korba, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Bangalore in the disproportionate assets case. According to sources, 20 special teams of ACB/EOW have been prepared in the disproportionate assets case, out of which 16 teams are taking action in Chhattisgarh and 4 teams in other states. Information about assets worth more than crores of rupees has come to light from the hideouts of the accused. EOW’s plan for raids was ready in the entire state two days before Independence Day.

    Raid at suspended IAS Samir Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house

    According to sources, during the investigation of disproportionate assets, it was found that some part of the disproportionate assets of suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi is related to his in-laws. After which raids were conducted at Sameer Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house in Anupgarh and Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. When the team reached Sameer Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house, they were stunned to see the property spread over tens of acres. Sources say that Sameer Bishnoi has several acres of land in Rajasthan and has invested in cotton and ice factories. Currently, a large team of EOW is taking action at Sameer’s in-laws’ house. Also, raids are going on at the Bangalore house of State Administrative Service officer Saumya Chaurasia and raids are going on at Saumya Chaurasia’s locations in Jharkhand.

    Not only this, raids have also been conducted at the hideouts of businessmen who were close to these officers in the state. Those who were directly/indirectly associated with coal levy or the business of Saumya Chaurasia, Ranu Sahu and Sameer Bishnoi. That is why the team has taken action at the hideouts of hoteliers, coal traders, contractors and land traders.

    Let us tell you that suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and Saumya Chaurasia have been in jail for the last two years. In the coal levy case in Chhattisgarh, ED first raided the hideouts of the accused. After which the involvement of Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu and Saumya was found.
