  • Kedar Jadhav Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket In MS Dhoni Style | Cricket News

Kedar Jadhav recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Monday. He shared a reel on Instagram featuring his memorable moments on the field, accompanied by the sad song “Zindagi Ke Safar Mein Guzar Jaate Hai Jo Makam,” similar to how MS Dhoni announced his retirement. Jadhav, who played 73 ODIs and 122 T20Is for India between November 2014 and February 2020, posted on Instagram, saying, “Thank you all for your love and support throughout my career. Consider me retired from all forms of cricket.”

    Kedar Jadhav’s memorable career

Jadhav, whose last appearance for India was against New Zealand in an ODI in Auckland, debuted against Sri Lanka in Ranchi under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. A few months later, he marked his first century for India in an ODI against Zimbabwe, ending his career with 1389 runs at an average of 42.09, featuring six half-centuries and two centuries. His retirement follows two days after Dinesh Karthik’s exit.

One of Jadhav’s memorable innings was his 120 off just 76 balls in Pune against England, where India chased down 351 runs. He and Kohli both scored centuries, forging a thrilling 200-run partnership, with Jadhav’s standout performance earning him the Player-of-the-Match award. He was also part of India’s 2019 World Cup squad, contributing crucially with a 52-run innings against West Indies.

Jadhav rose to prominence during the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy, finishing as the highest run-scorer of the season with 1223 runs at an average of 87.35, including six half-centuries and two fifties, with a best of 204. His outstanding form propelled Maharashtra to the final, although they lost to Karnataka.

    Kedarnath’s IPL Career

In the IPL, Jadhav debuted with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and played for Chennai Super Kings, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Across 93 IPL matches, he accumulated 1196 runs, including four half-centuries.

  • IPL 2024: Ambati Rayudu’s savage reminder to RCB after playoff heartbreak | Cricket News

As the curtains fell on Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) IPL 2024 campaign, former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu didn’t hold back in reminding them where true glory lies. In a savage Instagram post, Rayudu took a playful jab at RCB’s playoff exit, sharing a video of Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) players celebrating their fifth IPL title triumph with a cheeky caption: “Just a gentle reminder from the 5-time champions . Sometimes a gentle reminder is required.”

Showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium

The drama unfolded at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where RCB locked horns with the Rajasthan Royals in a do-or-die Eliminator clash. Despite entering the match on the back of a six-game winning streak, the Bengaluru-based franchise faltered when it mattered most.

    Batting Woes Haunt RCB

After being put in to bat first, RCB’s batters failed to construct a commanding total. Virat Kohli (34), Rajat Patidar (33), and Mahipal Lomror (31) got starts but couldn’t convert them into substantial scores. RCB eventually mustered 172/8 from their 20 overs, a target that proved inadequate against the resilient Royals.

    Rayudu’s Cheeky Reminder

As RCB’s dream of clinching their maiden IPL title shattered, Rayudu seized the opportunity to remind them of CSK’s sustained dominance. His Instagram post, featuring CSK’s title-winning celebrations, served as a subtle jibe, implying that true greatness lies in consistent performances and trophy-winning pedigree.

    Rayudu’s Words Cut Deep

Rayudu’s comments during a post-match show further rubbed salt into RCB’s wounds. “If you talk about RCB today, it shows that only passion and aggressive celebrations don’t win you trophies. You need to plan. You didn’t get the IPL trophy just by reaching the playoffs. You have to play with the same hunger ,” he remarked.

Targeting RCB’s lack of Indian talent

Not one to mince words, Rayudu also criticized RCB’s over-reliance on foreign recruits, suggesting they lack faith in Indian talent. “They need to show more faith in Indians, especially in Indian talent. I don’t think in the past 16 years any Indian batter apart from Virat Kohli has scored more than 1000 runs, and Virat is at 8000. That shows that you don ‘t have any confidence in Indian talent,” he added.

  • Tushar Deshpande’s Instagram Story Adds Salt To RCB’s Wounds, CSK Star Delets It Later | Cricket News

In an era where social media blunders are rapidly amplified, Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) pacer Tushar Deshpande found himself at the center of controversy following his Instagram story mocking Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After RCB’s defeat to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024 Eliminator, Deshpande’s ill-timed post added fuel to the fire, leading to a backlash that prompted its swift deletion.

    A Heartbreaking Defeat for RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore, riding high on a six-match winning streak, faced a crushing blow as their IPL 2024 campaign ended in the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals. Despite posting a competitive total of 172/8, courtesy of valuable contributions from Virat Kohli (33 off 24) and Rajat Patidar (34 off 22), RCB’s efforts fell short. RR’s chase, spearheaded by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s explosive 45 off 30 balls and Riyan Parag’s composed 36 off 26, ensured they reached 174/6 in 20 overs, knocking RCB out of the tournament.

    Deshpande’s Instagram Faux Pas

As RCB fans mourned yet another missed opportunity, Tushar Deshpande’s Instagram story added insult to the injury. The CSK pacer posted a photo of Bengaluru Cantonment railway station with the caption “CSK fans are built different,” subtly mocking RCB’s repeated failures. However, recognizing the insensitivity and potential backlash, Deshpande quickly deleted the post.

Analyzing the Game: RCB’s Batting Woes

RCB’s innings had moments of brilliance but lacked the finishing touch needed to secure a higher total. Kohli’s quickfire 33 and Patidar’s solid 34 laid a promising foundation, but the middle-order struggled to accelerate. Despite a spirited effort, the score seemed insufficient against a resilient RR side. Avesh Khan (3/35) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/29) were instrumental in keeping RCB’s total in check.

Rajasthan’s Resilience: Jaiswal and Parag Shine

Chasing 173, RR faced early jitters but quickly found their rhythm with Jaiswal’s aggressive approach. His 30-ball 45 included some stunning boundaries, providing the necessary momentum. Parag’s calm demeanor under pressure was commendable, as he anchored the chase with a crucial 36 off 26 balls. The duo’s efforts were complemented by Rovman Powell’s late cameo (16* off 9), sealing the win for Rajasthan.

Turning Points: Siraj and Ferguson’s Efforts

Mohammed Siraj’s late strikes (2/33) gave RCB a glimmer of hope, dismissing Parag and Hetmyer in quick succession. Lockie Ferguson’s crucial breakthroughs, including the dismissals of Jaiswal and Kohler-Cadmore, momentarily shifted the game’s momentum. However, Powell’s calculated assault in the final overs dashed RCB’s comeback hopes.

The Road Ahead for Rajasthan Royals

With this victory, Rajasthan Royals advanced to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2, setting up an exciting clash for a place in the IPL final. RR’s win, breaking a four-match losing streak, reinvigorates their campaign and showcases their potential to go all the way.

    Social Media’s Double-Edged Sword

Deshpande’s Instagram story serves as a reminder of the double-edged sword that is social media. While it can enhance fan engagement and provide a platform for personal expression, it also requires a level of sensitivity and awareness, especially in the heat of competitive sports. The incident underscores the need for athletes to exercise caution and empathy in their online interactions.

  • ‘Classless Players, Apni Aukaat Mat Bhulo’: CSK, RCB Fans Begin Social Media War After Faf du Plessis And Co ‘Neglect’ MS Dhoni | cricket news

After the IPL 2024 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a controversy took place and interestingly it involved the former Chennai captain MS Dhoni, who has possibly played his last IPL. Dhoni has not yet announced his IPL retirement but with the way he thanked the Chennai crowd after their last match at home, it appears ‘Thala’ wants to bid goodbye to the only cricket tournament he plays after international retirement. Dhoni would have liked to end on a good note, with the record-making sixth IPL trophy. Alas, it was not to be.

CSK had themselves to be blamed as after starting well, their campaignd derailed and this season they lost more games at home than expected. In the end, they needed a simple win to qualify for the playoffs. But they batted poorly in the chase and could not achieve the cut-off score even to qualify.

RCB, on the other hand, won 6 matches on the trot to qualify. They won some of these matches by good margin also which boosted their Net Run rate (NRR). They were on the cusp on being knocked out early but they picked up their game in the last 3 weeks and will now play the Eliminator vs Rajasthan Royals.

RCB fought hard and had every right to celebrate the win over CSK in their lowest group match. The celebrations were extended on the ground. An upset MS Dhoni lined up in a queue to shake hands with the RCB players. Upon seeing their celebration, he left the ground after shaking hands with the support staff of the opposition camp.

One cannot say whether Dhoni got angered by RCB’s extended celebrations over playoffs qualification on the field but cameras have recorded him leaving the ground.

On social media, a sort of war has erupted since then. RCB fans are targeting Dhoni for not waiting to shake hands with opposition players. On the other hand, CSK fans are also alleging that RCB players did not show respect to a senior player like MSD by ignoring him.

One Twitter user, who happens to be a CSK fan, wrote that RCB players are classless and the should not forget that Dhoni won 5 IPL titles for CSK and should have been respected. The RCB fans also gave fitting replies to the CSK fan, saying that all MSD had to was walk 50 meters or less to shake hands.

Check out RCB and CSK fans at loggerheads below:

The mystery continues over Dhoni’s future at CSK. Is he going to come back to win another title for Chennai next season as a player. Experts say that if BCCI keeps the Impact Player rule, in which 12 players can take part in an IPL game across the two innings, there are more chances for aging Dhoni playing next season again. The rule gives him the cushion to play purely as a batter lower down the order.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi Capitals Women got off to a decent start with opener Shafali Verma showcasing her prowess with the bat. Verma's aggressive innings of 44 runs off just 27 deliveries, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, provided the initial momentum to the Capitals' innings. However, the Royal Challengers' bowling attack, led by Shreyanka Patil and Sophie Molineux, struck back with crucial breakthroughs at regular intervals.

Despite skipper Meg Lanning's contribution of 23 runs, Delhi Capitals struggled to build partnerships, losing wickets at crucial junctures. Molineux was the pick of the bowlers for the Royal Challengers, claiming three vital wickets, while Patil also made significant inroads, finishing with figures of 4 wickets for 12 runs. Marizanne Kapp and Radha Yadav chipped in with minor contributions, but the Capitals could only manage a below-par total of 113 runs in 18.3 overs, setting a target of 114 for the Royal Challengers.

Chasing a modest target, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women began their innings with caution, losing opener Sophie Devine early to a dismissal by Shikha Pandey. However, skippers Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry steadied the innings with a well-constructed partnership. Mandhana played a composed innings, scoring 31 runs off 39 deliveries before falling to Minnu Mani's bowling. Perry, on the other hand, anchored the chase brilliantly, remaining unbeaten with a crucial knock of 35 runs off 37 balls.

Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touches with a quickfire cameo, scoring an unbeaten 17 runs off 14 deliveries, as the Royal Challengers comfortably chased down the target with 3 balls to spare. Shikha Pandey and Minnu Mani were the only wicket-takers for Delhi Capitals, but their efforts were not enough to halt the Royal Challengers' charge towards victory.

The Royal Challengers' clinical performance with both bat and ball showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-deserved triumph in the final. Smriti Mandhana's astute captaincy, coupled with stellar contributions from key players like Ellyse Perry and Shreyanka Patil, played a pivotal role in their success.
